Footage exists of FSF and Zelda playing with Scottie when she was a baby. They are sitting on a blanket outside. Clip lasts a minute or so. Based on the age of Scottie, I sense that this was taken in 1922, in Minnesota. --As an honorific, when Fitzgerald was in Hollywood in 1927 or so (the time he visited with Richard Barthelmess), he was given a screen test. However, those tests, a form of flattery, were often casually tossed out. Or so Matt Bruccoli told me years ago. I'd love to find it!
Judging by the narrator's voice this is from "Famous Author's," a series of half hr programs from 1988-mid 1990s about British and American authors. (My local PBS station reairs them about once a year, but the quality here beats what I got.)
Wonder where this was exactly. I've assumed it was at Gerald and Sara Murphy's, but don't remember why.
Holy cow! The only Scott Fitz footage I've ever seen has been the (now ubiquitous) footageof him writing for a few seconds. Where did you find this? I'm a Fitz nut and hadn't seen this...thanks so much for posting. Love to see Zelda too.
This is the best of the three FSF clips I've seen. It was taken in the south of France in 1926. F is wearing same sweater as in a photo thus dated in Mizener's biography. Everyone who knew Zelda said that photos failed to capture her beauty and charm, but some of it comes through here when she smiles impishly around 20 seconds in. Does anyone know who is talking to Fitzgerald? André Chamson?
@rlathbury You've seen 3 film clips of Fitzgerald? I've seen this one and another where he's writing at a desk outside among trees... What's the third?
My god, I would do anything to just spend a day with the Fitzgeralds!

It's as though I'm seeing ghosts! Scott and Zelda together on moving film. There must be more moving images of Scott out there so lets see it.
