If I use mifi 2352 or 2372 in Europe and install a local SIM card with say 1GB data plan, everytime I use the internet will I be deducting my usage from the data plan or just connecting for free using the wifi portion?
Example: if I go into Starbucks I can connect via wifi for free. This MiFi will be inessence my portable Starbucks?
SOOOO i got a question. Say i buy this MiFi thing i have AT&T do i have to pay a monthly bill for having the device or do i just pay at the spot when i get it?
@adventurist86 It needs to have a carrier service in order for it to work. For instance, with your home internet, most people nowadays typically use a cable modem in order to connect to a internet. Now the cable modem's internet service is provided by either Time Warner Cable or Comcast. As for the Novatel MiFi, it also needs a carrier service in order for it to be its own WiFi hotspot. Without a Sim card that connects to a carrier, it won't work; Verizon, Virgin, and AT&T are its providers.
@adventurist86 So in another words, as long as it is embedded by a Sim card (provided by your current phone carrier that YOU are currently paying for on a monthly basis) from your cell phone, then it will work. I personally signed up for another 2 year contract for this gadget, because I just don't feel like having to take out the Sim card from my iPhone each time I want to create my own WiFi Hotspot on-the-go, and then put it back when I THINK I am going to have an incoming call.
It's a super genius hotspot. Worth paying for as well. For me I got the mifi 2200 from Verizon Wireless (check my YouTube channel for the unboxing). I'm in the us, I live here, and this is where I for the mifi . I have good cellular coverage here. I noticed I got better signals in the mountain areas, where im hundreds of miles away. I love this hotspot, recommended.

Does it work with other carriers like in Africa, middle east, and Asia? or it is locked to a specific carrier?
