@Xzibitfreek I play Forza quite a bit, and the only reason I like the PGR series is because of its car list, and physics, its rather fun to play after you sink some time into it.
Looks good. Getting it soon! Plus, I've bought a converter for my Logitech G25 so it can be used on the 360. I've got GTR Evolution on PC and it's great, very realistic.
Race Pro is a very underrated game. I think that it is better than forza in my opinion since i own both games. Forzas graphics are defantely a little better but overall i like how the cars handle in Race Pro, and there is a wider variety of being able to tune and setup your car exactly how you want it. If you havent tryed it i would defanately recommend getting a copy of the game since it is only about 15$ used at most game stores.
@mailmeonline race 07, GTR evo and Race on have nothing to do with Race Pro. they're just made by the same company. I'm just saying it's a shame it didn't come out for PC as well

"Visually" this game isn't as polished as some of the others out there (NFS Shift comes to mind as one of the best cockpit experiences on any console at the moment). However..., this games strength is in the physics. The graphics are so so at best.., but with a racing wheel the game is way more enjoyable. I've found that the analogue controller with this game isn't all that great.

@kinesas101 I learned a long time ago to never trust the marketing hype ;-) I certainly agree with you in several areas though. The graphics are quite poor.., and upon first playing the game I was dumbfounded that this was a NEWER game (2009). The car sounds do indeed sound very digital. However.., I use a Racing Wheel.., and that's where this game shows its strength. It has really good physics. Forza-3's ok.., but it too has some problems. (I also have both Forza 2 and 3).
This racing SIM isn't too bad. The graphics are just decent at best. As the reviewer stated the strength in this title is in the driving. The physics engine is really good.., and to really get a feel for the physics you MUST use a racing wheel with Race Pro. Race Pro IS NOT an arcade racer. It's a true racing SIM running on a console. It's worth the money IMO (especially for a used copy). One area that really bothers me is the crash physics.., a little over the top for low speed contact.
What would happen if Simbin and Codemasters work together and possibly make the best game ever? Well, besides the crash animations, Simbin really needs to work on a couple night stages like Special Route 5 where we can finally turn on our car lights and hit top speed. And license some descent music too.

I just picked up Race Pro for the 360, as there aren't many actual sim console options. I didn't even realize Simbin had a 360 game until recently, and I got it dirt cheap too.
@matawin2 Simbin's not about looks, my friend, they are about simulation.. and they do that better than almost everyone. Unlike games from the likes of EA and Codemasters, Simbin actually try to make a game for the racer, not for the money

lol at "professional driver's perspective." All you need to do is google each game and take a look at what's going on under the hood. The best one's RacePro, which should be expected as it's made by Simbin- the developers behind the GTR series for PC.
@essboarder23 forza3 for physics but racepro is pretty close if not the same... it's a toss up, but forza3 has better graphics and it also has drift physics.
gt5 doesnt neccessarily have the most realistic or satisfying handling, id personally give the nod to race pro over forza, but as an overall package gt5 easily trumps all of them, both graphically and quantity of content

that is true, thats the problem with racing games for people that just play Need for speed games. Most cars wont hit 250 m.p.h. and corner that fast. forza and other simulators try to make racing as realistic as possible..

Actually, Atari only published Race Pro. SimBin created the game and they are pretty awesome when it comes to PC sim racing games. Can't tell you if Race Pro is any good though... Looks a lot like Race 07 for the PC which is pretty good. I don't blame you though on your choice between PD and Atari. If it was just straight up Atari, I wouldn't touch it...

this is a simbin game, one of the biggest pc sim game makers, the simbin series have been going a lot longer than the Toca Series and i would say that Toca is a rip off of Rfactor a the simbin game that Race is based on

Great review as it concentrates on driver-view mode, so you can really get a feel for what it's like to play. This looks better than I expected given the mixed reviews, I'm going to buy it.
The thing about GRID is that it is unique in the way it makes you feel like you are going fast when your in an Audi R10, whereas in Forza, or also in the GT games, you can go 210 mph and not feel like your going fast.
thats how I feel about DiRT, I like it but I just wish it was more of a sim. I think race Pro is a better game then Forza, I like all the cars and customizing you can do but, race pro is over the top with its realism.

I just picked up Race Pro for the 360, as there aren't many actual sim console options. I didn't even realize Simbin had a 360 game until recently, and I got it dirt cheap too.

I said "feels". To me, the feeling between car and road is better simulated in Forza than in GT. I'm not a fanboy of either, in fact I'm currently playing Forza 3 and Gran Turismo on PSP right now. It's all apples and oranges

Actually, Atari only published Race Pro. SimBin created the game and they are pretty awesome when it comes to PC sim racing games. Can't tell you if Race Pro is any good though... Looks a lot like Race 07 for the PC which is pretty good. I don't blame you though on your choice between PD and Atari. If it was just straight up Atari, I wouldn't touch it...

No infact I have many hours on real tracks in S. florida in multiple porsche's and bmw's 325is full blown race car and an e36 m3.. 05 400hp STI.. 76 carrera.. im not an armchair racer like the majority here. :)

i jus got this game..... first day i raced it on Professional and this game taxes all ur skills. first i thought the game ddnt look good but after the first three race i really ddnt care this game is GREAT

this is a simbin game, one of the biggest pc sim game makers, the simbin series have been going a lot longer than the Toca Series and i would say that Toca is a rip off of Rfactor a the simbin game that Race is based on

mark what you should be amazed about his how good the physics of this game are, I've never played a game with such realistic physics. extremity hard and rewarding, this game is made for people who want a training simulator. I love this game, picked it up for $20 used, awesome.

Great review as it concentrates on driver-view mode, so you can really get a feel for what it's like to play. This looks better than I expected given the mixed reviews, I'm going to buy it.

The thing about GRID is that it is unique in the way it makes you feel like you are going fast when your in an Audi R10, whereas in Forza, or also in the GT games, you can go 210 mph and not feel like your going fast.

thats how I feel about DiRT, I like it but I just wish it was more of a sim. I think race Pro is a better game then Forza, I like all the cars and customizing you can do but, race pro is over the top with its realism.
