  • back sliding like a mother fucker lol..... arch positive legs and bring your arms in. lol

  • HALO- High Altitude Low Opening

    HAHO- High Altitude High Opening

I'm not going to guess the altitudes that differentiate them because i don't know.

  • the parachute is the worst part...I like to fall fast and get it over with

  • I can't believe the BS I read on here. Ask a recruiter. I am an instructor at the HALO school at yuma proving ground,AZ. 99% of these statements on here are total shit

  • @smithjuls1024 and who would you be? cuz i just graduated that course today lol

  • @MrJbredsosuckit .... tell me its ozz lol

  • HALO jumps are above 25,000 ft, it does require oxygen mask..so for some of you out there who don't know this is not a HALO jump, this is just a free fall jump.

  • @JavierMen5 im guessing halo is the name of this skydiving school?

Not sure but i guess it makes sense.

  • @JavierMen5 It is a HALO jump. Anything involving freefall (not a stand off (HAHO), is considered a Halo.

  • @JavierMen5 ... your a moron lol read a book and find the facts

  • @MrJbredsosuckit that's all you kids say..read books..how about you go experience it in real life or in the military then come talk about books..punk..

  • i would do it but i couldnt be the first to jump it just wouldnt happen

  • This is still my favorite video you created!

  • @Canuck1337 High Altitude Low Opening, An actual Military-Level HALO requires an Oxygen Mask I do believe..

  • ughhh....i plan on joining the marines and attempting to get into force recon and i am not looking forward to this shit AT ALL

  • @MrKANbeats im thinking about it to

  • @MrKANbeats ha! if you want to be force recon this is by far....let me repeat that...by far the easiest thing you will do besides taking a piss. man up. US Army

  • arent halo jumpers not to show their faces?

  • @Canuck1337 they wear oxygen masks, so they can breathe when 30, 000 feet up.. in this video, they havnt gone that high...this comment is a month old so im guessing you no that now

  • I thought they had to wear oxygen on HALO jumps?

  • @EIIBipolarpig

It depends on the altitude there jumping off.

HALO doesn't mean that they have to wear oxygen but that they jump high and open low.

  • if did that id piss my pants

  • 3....2....1.....turn right, turn left, clear, pop twinkie!

  • what was the title of the song you used here? Many thanks.:)

  • Where exactly did you jump from? Looks almost like a desert down there.

  • @MrFlavorcrayon Navy FF school is in San Diego. Civilians jump at the same DZ also. Its one of my favorite DZ's to visit.

  • @MrFlavorcrayon : The area where the free fall school is the Otay Mountain Range near the US/Mexican border. I work near by and I see them jump. The actual school is of Otay Lakes Rd mile marker 7. There is a civilian school and also the Navy FF school at the same location. I think some of their instructors are civilians with thousands of jumps under their belts.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • can us army airborne go to halo school?????????

  • @Afmet91.....US Army Special Forces soldiers on HALO teams, and Army Rangers in RRD can go to HALO school. Before you can go to HALO school you do need to be airborne qualified, and you need to go the HAP Chamber. There is an ARMY HALO School in YPG. If you are regular army, ask for it in your reenlistment contract, you might get lucky. Or go through the SFQC.

  • can us army airborne go to halo school?????????

  • @Afmet91 Any who is in SF can apply for HALO freefall USMC, USA, USAF, USN, USCG, its not just for the Navy...

  • i dont think its just navy, pretty sure its a joint school at Yuma

  • Easily the best HALO video I've seen yet, excellent job guys. I can't wait to do this for myself! I'm going to be training to be an MOS 18B in the United States Army, so I'll be in airborne school. I wish I could do this daily though!

  • one of the greatest videos of HALO ever seen.

  • Amazing video!

  • Intense stuff at 7:10 came pretty close...

  • Wow, this video is incredibly well put together... good job! I am static line qualified... but this (free fall) is just INSANE!! I was reading some of the other comments... (frown!). No need to argue... just remember that we are (all service branches, regardless of MOS, etc) are all on the same team and we are all brothers and sisters in the end... It is all of us vs. the bad guys!!

  • @TheGreekxicans You said it the first time...we are all brothers and sisters. There is no such thing as bad guys, unless you include yourself, because we are all human.

  • @ChristopherJManess // Thanks for your comment. What I meant was, all us us (servicemembers) vs the bad guys (all the folks whom we are fighting in this "war on terror"), etc. I serve my country proudly, and those who "bad guys" are the ones who have caused casualties (of our fellow service members). Aloha!

  • @TheGreekxicans I really see it differently. I won't argue with you about it, but hope that your eyes will open, as mine did in Iraq. May you have inner peace.

  • @ChristopherJManess// My eyes ARE open; we just have different opinions, that is all. You said it; we won't argue about it... so I guess we can agree to disagree.... Regardless... we are all here on YouTube having a good time watching these motivating videos... this free fall video rocks and it really makes me want to do it; though I imagine it is 100 X scarier than a static line jump!

  • Do all Marines do this or only certain ones? Id like to have expert jump wings when Im a Marine Force Recon!!!

  • @LevelCarnivore1 Force Recon is full ... MARSOC needs new bodys but first join the Marine Corps kid.. and no not all marines are airborne...

  • how do you propel yourself forward like the third guy? that was pretty cool.

  • @ClupeGuitar

You pull your arms and legs together and make your body more streamlined so you go faster

  • @jamiehyne ha. im kinda stupid for askin that haha. but thanks

  • this looks so cool! I can't wait until I'm 18 and I can go skydiving! :)

  • This looks so fucking wicked.

  • ok then do it....just don't talk about it

  • hey guys i9 was thinkin should i be in special opps or the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment

  • I like this video

  • SONG????????????

  • Sounds like Breaking Benjamin Breath

  • it is breaking benjamin, songs called blow me away, its on the Halo soundtrack

  • Being a military freefall skydiving instructor in the skies of California sounds like an enjoyable job, doesn't it ?

  • What do the hand gestures mean? The second guys to fall are gesturing to eachother and I'm sure it means something, but I don't know what.

  • directional commands to see if they can move in the air

  • cool vid... u kinda feel for the students in the vid a lil... but what do you expect. they're learning... jus like we all were at one point. I got into the school for being a rigger with SF... good luck to others who seek the dream..

  • @codymagee100 its hoo rah

  • ITs not all that. but I'll tell you what; Yuma is hot as fuck in the summer!!! Hit that V skytrash!!

  • "Until the End" by Breaking Benjamin

  • geil

  • odst's :)

  • most airborne use static lines jumps. this is completely different. these are "Halo Free Fall Warriors." I would assume that you now that already.

it is incredibly difficult to get into free fall school. Good luck to my brothers who are trying to get into this class!

  • ya i know but i was just saying go airborne not as an insult or anyhintg but kind of agrying that the fact they are jumping off planes, like suyying oorahh on a marine core video.

  • Its Marine Corps...not core.

  • Hell yeah they do. Combat Controllers do all kinds of crazy shit aside from that. I leave in january. I'm totally stoked

  • Yes, PJ's, SERE, TACP and SOWT.

  • SEALS BABY

  • congratulation! Otroplano by Brazil Family!

  • wow now i wish id have done this and not AF SF

  • Wow. I can't believe some of the people commenting aren't even familiar with Air Force Pararescue. Everyone keeps talking about Rangers, Marines and Seals. But seriously give respect where it is do. Pararescuemen are among the elite of the U.S. Military.

  • true! AF PJs and Coast Guard Rescue teams aren't given enough credit!

    --AROTC Cdt. Pvt. Kouba

  • damn this is sick i want to be a combat medic but i also want to jump and do everything how would i be able to get in the class ?

  • Apply?

  • dude u dont have to a combat medic. you just have to be in special forces

  • You don't even have to be in Special Forces. Just in a JSOC unit that does RSTA

  • Well in the Army, Marines, and the Navy only special operations such as MARSOC, SEALS, Green Berets, etc but in the Air force there is something called pararescue.

  • which is the one of the air force special forces :P

  • There called pararescuemen or PJ's.

  • yep.

  • when you get into SF (if army) the green berets do halo and haho. rangers can take this class to. this is part of navy seals and air force pararescuue (it is in the name). talk to your military recruiter(s) about jump school they should help you.

  • holy shit i cannot imagine doing this in the middle of the night with 100+lbs of shit. i barely made it through airborne school cuz im scared shitless of heights. considering skydiving though ;-) looks fun

  • what are the different hand signals the instructor is using?

  • The thumbs down means arch... the "duck quack" one means tap your feet together, the peace sign means straighten your legs about 6 inches.....

  • Breaking benjamin FTW.

Do basic infantry marines get to do this or only special ops? Because this looks like a perk for a soldiers being able to Fly.... ( well fall but for a long time. its always been my dream to fly but not in an aircraft, I mean who doesn't want to fly.

  • or. here it goes. to do airborne school you must apply for recon as that is really the only unit in the marines that does airborne. some others may at some times but its not for certain. if you want to do HALO jumps. go be a navy seal.

  • i honestly think the scariest part is standing in the door way but idk never done it...

  • scariest part, is right when you jump. Tried it, as soon as you let go of the door, you are insanely scared. but that was me.

  • i didnt think any of it was scary. my heart was pounding for sure though. its an exhilirating experience. its only scary until you feel the rush

  • to me door is the scariest. actually the pre-jump when jumpmasters check your shit. that builds up anticipation. but once i'm past the door i'm good ;-) (jumped only static line)

  • hah yea thats true and also when the airplane is going up XD man i cant wait till i do this in the navy

  • yea thats what ive hear, its the pre-jump thats the scariest...

  • I didn't know the Navy had their own HALO program(?)I jumped with a few out in Yuma and have met others that went there and to Bragg...I to am a former Ranger with HALO wings.however I earned them while going through Pathfinder school.although the program did't require it I was offered a slot and took it.

  • Well if u were a Ranger, u KNOW this aint HALO

HALO = HIGH altidude LOW opening, so it means, face mask, 3 minute drop. Maybe 2 if i'm correct.

I may have it all wrong, but I aint no Ranger.

  • This looks like,

    first jump 9000 feet

    second one 1200 feet.

I think they passed like 2 jumps before recording the second one.

this might be on second thought, a HAHO.

    HIGH opening

    well, whatever

  • wrong. 9-12 ft jumps do not require oxygen to the extent that it seems they are using it. they are much higher than that. and they are also falling for too long for it to be HAHO

  • My first jump was from 12000ft and we didnt use oxygen, with halo jumps you need it. This vid is just the training leading up to the halo.

  • i kno what it looks like, but ive been told that in a HAHO your steering the chute for over an hour....please correct me if this is false, someone who has done it told me so

  • I've also heard It's can be about 40 minutes. I'm sure it can go longer. However we need someone who has actually done this stuff to tell us..

  • oh of course, i was just talking to the max. im sure when you start of doing HAHO its less then 20 mins anyhow

  • when doing a military haho you can go over 60 miles

  • You are very right,I had a 'Bail Out' bottle as well as special cold weather gear for my jump.however we do lower altitude jumps for practice.the video LOOKS like it was shot in Yuma.there was another comment posted a comment on the planes being jumped from were civilian planes.I find that rather odd myself,if only that I jumped frm. C-130's.of course that was in 1993.thanks for the reply..if your in the army try and apply for Ranger school,we need more good guy's like you out there.

  • halo ususally doesnt require a face mask, usually at these altitudes anyway. its HAHO that always requires a face mask

  • does any one kno the name of this song ??

  • i think its "Blow me away" by breaking Benjamin.

  • I love all this "talk"...even if "you've been to HALO" is it really everybody's business on youtube to know it. For you military guys out there, I know its hard not to reply to these idiots on here who think they know everything about the "Special Forces/Ops" of the Services b/c they've seen a movie or read a book...but remember OPSEC..the civilian population doesnt need to know everything..they can read about us in 50 years...when our missions are declassified

  • trombone player in the 82nd band!?! what if im a trombone player in the 82nd band?

jk, im a commo guy in the 82nd band.

again kidding. Im really 2 panther commo.

    for real.

  • look at that view

  • Rangers are a rapid assault light infantry force.

They may attack with the element of surprise, but they don't often focus on going above and beyond for covert infiltration such as HALO.

They static-line and then move on foot or with light vehicles.

  • Haha- okay okay. I never said anything to contradict that.

Force would be the only Marines to do HALO and im not even sure if they do...

Rangers dont, its impractical to their mission. Not all SF need HALO training. Its relative to your job. Rangers are part of SOCOM, but they dont need HALO training as they never need to use it.

  • This looks like it would be fun but some people it took them 10 years to get into HALO military free fall training

  • lol...typo *descent

  • third guy on the decent, could have gotten a speeding ticket...lol

  • Many in the Army or SF will tell you there is NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECTLY GOOD AIR PLANE!!! Specially an AF plane!!! :D

  • Maybe I should note more that My response was more rhetorical then questions. I'm no noob when it comes to methods of insertion, SF troops, HALO, HAHO, Static insertion or rope a doping it in. All SF are Airborne. I was reacting to the lack understanding that was being posted. Thanks for the reply though.

  • just pure brilliance... these guys got guts.... who would of thought of jumping out of a perfect plane :D awesome vid... 5/5 This takes someone who is fearless and has the toughness of an ox... Thanks to all who give their lives to serve and protect the USA!!! Godbless em, and GODSPEED

  • i agree man, but i am going to have to do it in a few months and i aint fearless. it just takes some one with courage enough to over come there fears.

  • yea , dumbass, because the military must need special planes to jump out of, like it makes a difference.

  • amazing

  • Yes army marines air force and navy can enroll in the freefall program. hard as fuck to get in though.

  • average marine doesnt need the airborne Q's. They are LEGS.....they dont fuckin jump.

Im not sure about the force recon guys though- totally diffrent animal from marines those guys...

  • Marines can do HALO military freefall training any branch of the military can althogh its hard to get into

  • Yes- any person from any branch can go to HALO/HAHO school, however that does not mean they will use it when they go back to their respective branch and unit.

Marines don't jump. A marine can go to HAHO school and pass, but he will never jump a HAHO with his bat.

Usually special forces are the only ones who do HAHO in combat

  • that is not true if you are a recon marine you can parachute and/or scuba dive into areas its a part of some marines MOS

    MOS= militart occupational specialty

  • Okay- I hate being an asshole, but i sorta have to be right now, because it's just not right for people to claim things when they don't know what they talk about.

    1. I know what an MOS is, im in the goddamn Army.

    2. Marines don't have MOS's. That is an Army thing. Marines are infantrymen or support infantrymen, there are no other jobs....

    3. When i say Marine, it refers to a grunt Marine. A FR Marine refers to himself as a Recon Marine.

    Robert Bertram, 2nd LT

    3ID

  • ok first of all your being ignorant marines do have mos if you go on the website and request information you get sent a booklet that summs up what there is to being a marine and it includes different MOS for enlisted Marines such as combat arms, enlisted aviation, combat service support,computers/communications/intelligence/electronics,and also the marine reserve so i support you for joining the army but you did not join the Marine Corps so you would not know much about the Marine Corps

  • If it is now called an MOS, then that is something relatively new, as the Marines never used that terminology before.

Fighting alongside Marines tells me plenty about them.

They are good fighters, a little too cocky, but thats just what they're taught.

  • Ever heard of a Marine thats an engineer, supply sergeant, medic, etc. There are various MOS in the Marines just like in the Army. What kind of a military branch would have all combat arms and no support? That makes no sense.

  • HALO school is open to specific service members in the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, and allied nations. Usually SpecOps not just any service member can attend, there are strict requirements that must be met before you are given a slot at HALO school.

  • right. I never said anything that would contradict that. You are correct.

  • why did he need to know how to spin? also what did any of the other signals mean?(other than spin and dive)

  • its 2000 minutes to 5000, what time do i open my chute when there is only a minute hand...rofl

  • the big "wristwatch" on their wrist is an altimeter. tells you how far from the ground you are.

  • the hand signal that looks like a wave off on an aircraft carrier is saying i'm pulling my ripcord move.

  • whats the hand thing they do before they open the chute

  • its training so hes telling the student what to do.

  • but the guys do it on every halo video i've seen not only on training vids

  • Well hand signals are used to communicate in the air, since you cant hear a voice in the air, and probably the videos on youtube are training videos thats why there are so much hand signals because they dont film on operations thats because Special Forces usually HALO drop.

  • British pathfinders train both, but like all i think they stick to haho, so the can glide in so far and tab the rest

  • H.A.H.O.

  • They do jumps in the day too, dumb fuck

  • What does HALO stand for. I know its High Altitude but what is the L and O?

  • its high altitude low opening they go open so low so radars cant detect them

  • Thats What i thought it meant but i wasnt sure. But the whole thing about the radars not detecting them thats genious!

  • Its not used for radar avoidance as much as it is trying not to be seen by the enemy that's looking up in they sky....i like the audio preview when u type ur comments

  • ya cause people can really see HALO's when there landing in the ocean in the middle of the night. What the hell r u talking bout u dont know anything.

  • HALO: High Altitude Low Opening

Airborne, its just a method of insertion now. What ever happened to "Paratroopers"?

  • Not really sure. But A HALO Jump is good enough for me i mean the jumpers arent detected by enemy radars when doing a HALO jump

  • Actually my comment about paratroopers was a rhetorical question.

As for the radar comments that have been made. I believe they are asinine. A jumper cannot be detected because they are too small in weight and size. If they opened low because of radar what about when they originally jump out of the aircraft? Or how about HAHO jumps? We're talking less then 400 lbs with all equipment and smaller then a UAV. Except some of the super small UAVs.

  • Well the radar thing was just something i heard i never validated that information.

  • all the songs are by breaking benjamin 1) blow me away 2) until the end 3) breath

  • it doesnt feel like your falling? is that because your body is horizontal rather than vertical?

  • whats that song called, and how does it feel to freefall?

  • The song is called Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin

  • Man, I want to do this so bad.

  • amazing --> "And once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519)

  • Sadly the movies have too many people misunderstanding HALO. What you see on the big screen is mostly fiction. The military definition of HALO and HAHO is quite different. If you don't do it for a living, ask someone who does.

  • O_o thats so fuckin awesome...but scary

  • Thats a OTTER you are jumping out of right?

  • yeah a twin otter
