You do realize self-righteousness also applies to all of those people? There is basically evil and self-righteous. Evil is doing something you truly believe is evil and despicable and you should not do, but just doing it anyway, without any greater cause. Self-righteous is doing anything because you think it's good. Wether you or I or anyone else agrees is irrelevant.
In the Star Wars example, Luke also killed people because he thought he was doing the right thing, just like Vader. No difference
The main thing is; there's a limit to how much evil someone can do just for the sake of being evil. However, there's almost no limit to how much evil they can do if they THINK they're in the right to do it.
"Good" and "Evil" don't need that much explaining but I'll explain the self-rightious ones;
*Bush is self-rightious because he believes God is on his side and he is in the right to do what he's doing, but he is in fact killing innocent people.
*Venomfang is self-rightious because he's a liar, but he doesn't see it that way because he thinks Satan is out to get his channel.
*The Commadore is the law-and-order type and opposes the good guys (Jack counts as "evil" because he's a selfish criminal, but he's also a good example of how limited "Evil" is compared to "self-righteousness")
*Darth Vader honestly believes that the Jedi are eviland that he is doing a good thing by uniting the Galaxy under one Empire and ending the corruption of the Senate.
*Ken Ham, he blames Evolution for various evils. But the odd thing is, he lists both Racism and homosexuality. And... Racism and homosexuality don't belong on the same list of evils, it's Racism and homoPHOBIA that go together. Racism and homoPHOBIA are actually much more common amongst fundies and fanatics than Atheists. He thinks he;s doing something good by preaching Religion but he is in fact a homophobe.
*Jeff Foxworthy, Leatherface and Fred Phelps are all Rednecks. However, Jeff is a comedian, Leatherface is a psycho killer, and Fred is the founder of the WBC.
*the three cartoon characters, are all from "The Road to El Dorado", a movie that pretty much shows my opinion of Religion. I also got the "Atheist Gods" music from that movie.
Chel is basically the love interest, the high Preist is evil and is the only person in El Dorado who actually WANTS Miguel and Tulio to start eating souls, and Cortez, although he ony has afew cameos, is a Christian religious fanatic and the scariest character in the whole movie.
*In the first episode of TNG, the Q threatened to destroy Picard and the Enterprise because the Q believed that all humans were violent savages, because he was even more aware of human history than they were. He wanted to protect the quadrant from them.
*In Dogma, matt Daemon was the Angel of Death who, while traveling to this place where they could re-enter heaven, decided to hopefully score a few points with God by buying a gun and killing sinners.
"evil", as in Pure Evil, are those who simply do bad things for the fun of doing it. Petty criminals, generally.
"Good" are people who follow their concience.
"Self-Rightious" are people who use the Bible to justify their actions, or honestly believe they're doing the world a favour by gassing the Jews, or they think Allah wants them to crash into the Twin Towers. Basically, it's people who THINK they're good but their victims don't see it that way.

I might even do a follow-up to this video, I don't think I was thorough enough and I sound like I'm talking to toddlers.
