  • the real deal...very nice

  • Hey, I'm going to buy a SMP Quartz at the end of this year (black dial and bezel)

    Did you enjoy yours?

  • How much was this watch? It's nice!

  • i like this watch but the quartz movement on such a masterpiece puts me off..sweep always preferred to the ticks...

  • Lovely watch. I'm wearing the Mid-sized watch as I type this.

  • what is the price of this masterpiece?

  • Well it is quite a bargain for what is offered here. I bought a similar version and it cost me 1500e.

  • Beautiful, such a classic elegant design. I am sure in 20/30/40+ years it will still look appropriate (until some "fashion watches" these days, pffff). Love the quartz over the automatic for no hassle and accuracy.

It's also a perfect size, not loud and too big, not too small. A decent size and usable by all means .

I would change to solid illuminated hands though, but it's a personal thing. Great timepiece. Enjoy, hope you get lots of enjoyment!!

  • Don't you "I can see your watch is a fake" people have a life? If it's not the Certified Omega back, maybe you could be so kind and explain why it isn't. I have all the receipt's and certification for this omega. And for the rolex I have an assurance certificate from an authorized dealer here in Oslo. Both watches where infact bought here in Oslo.

  • ..that IS the correct back for this model of watch actually... Its an older version (pre co-axal) so it has the smaller wave pattern and smaller logo. i used to have one in the 90s. i have a new co-axial one now with the bigger logo and no wave pattern a lot like the planet ocean minus the words PLANET OCEAN on there. i dont know why you're calling this fake. You can also see the Omega/globe engraving on the back of the watch in the video if you look close, that is VERY hard to counterfeit...

  • Thanks, tried to get a good look at the omega globe on the back but the macro mod on the cam is to bad.

One thing I've noticed on fakes that I've never read in a "how to tell it's a fake" article up to this date. Is how the pin on the bracelet lock is fastened to the bracelet. On the real seamaster they are way more solid.

  • Ah actually you would not be able to tell if this watch is a fake by looking at the back or any area of the watch via video. The watch would need to be examined in person. I doubt that it is a fake but why don't you elaborate and tell us why you think it is?

  • I love Youtube, so little knowledge among so many experts.

This watch is 100% genuine, anyone who has owned one can tell that by just looking at it.

  • Very nice watch, thanks for doing the video. Like you I have both auto and quartz high end watches. I love the quartz for what it does well and really I see no downside to them. Auto's on the other hand have many down sides.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks for the comment! I totally agree:)

  • For all of you that are complaining because my Seamaster is not a chronometer. Watch my Rolex Submariner/Date instead. I bought a Seamaster quartz because I wanted a very accurate watch that I did not have to wear all day to keep it running. And since Omega use ETA instead of making their own movements, it was the watch case I was after. For cronometric pleassure I have a Rolex Submariner.

  • Really, really nice watch!

  • why does everyone hate quartz watches?

  • I really don't know. I also have the 300M quartz. Wonderful watch.

  • because its like buying a V-6 mustang.

  • but v6 mustang is more acurrate than v8 ;-)

  • I think people "hate" quartz watches because it takes away from the "history" of watch making where there are gears and extreme precision. In quartz it's all computertized. In automatic, there's no 'ticks' and it does not have electricity (correct me if I'm wrong).

Quartz is better for accuracy. But for class and history, automatic represents it more.

  • No, that makes no sense at all.

  • What makes no sense? The fact that automatic watches aren't accurate compared to Quartz? It's true. do your research kthx.

  • Quartz is more accurate, reliable and above all its less expensive. I own the the auto GMT and I don't wear it often enough to keep it wound up so I have to rewind it and reset it at least once a week which after a while is a pain in the ass. I should have gotten the quartz.

  • GET AN AUTOMATIC !!!!

  • I have know bought a "Rolex Sea-Dweller", witch is automatic. So stop shouting about buying automatic. I will of course keep my Seamaster. I may upload a video on the "Sea-Dweller", since most of the Rolex videos here on Youtube are fakes fakes and fakes.

  • Got the quartz (cal. 1538). the rigorous accuracy is absolutely excellent. Even after 20 days that beauty don't lose approximately a second. i really love automatics (got a speedmaster too) - but the accuracy of that Omega-SMP 300 quartz-watch for a price of 1300€ is really unbeatable. Such a beautiful watch.

  • should have saved up and got the chronometer version this is and always will be the cheap version...quality watches should always be auto/chronometers not battery operated...cool case though...yes i own the chronometer version

  • Dude, it's a quartz!

  • thanks for the info=P

  • Awesome watch!

  • they also do a mid-size quartz and full size quartz and more importantly mid-size automatic and full size automatic which is pretty cool. Full size is too big don't you think!

  • This is actually the full size. I do not have very big arms but it fits very good anyway. Also I think many women have chosen the mid size in the seamaster series. Believe it or not the watch is unisex, you can chose the one or another as you prefer.

  • one of the best watches ever made and if u dont have the speedmaster u should get that to enjoy

  • davinci, I agree - they are both excellent, but considering that the price difference (depending on your AD) can be minimal, but for purists, the old one is the way to go I guess.

I like to give my collection a bit of variation and this will be my first Co-Axial by Omega.

  • The new one is the 2220.80, mine has been ordered, and is quite a step-up from this :)

  • I like the new one too, but if your favorite bond movie is Goldeneye, like in my case you may prefer the "original"(first design+ non co-axial) But no offense, they are both excellent!=)

  • If you are talking about what kind of watch they used in the bond movies from Goldeneye and until today:

Goldeneye - Omega SM Pro Quartz

Tomorrow Never Dies - Omega SM Pro Automatic

The World is Not Enough - Omega SM Pro Automatic

Die Another Day - Omega SM Pro Automatic

Casino Royale - Omega SM Pro Automatic (co-axial Escapement)

  • Quartz? I thought they were automatic?
