Thank you for your answer my friend because I have a project in a Datsun 510 and I want to put the engine sr20 But I am confused as to Turbo gredy t78 or gt35 Because I want to get 600 hp.
@04R666 well obviously .... but just because i have a sr20 doesnt mean i have a 200sx..... mine is still a 240sx.... like for example look at the tail lights ect on this car... this is obviously a 200sx.....
@laurentravis2 That doesn't even make sense... The chassis is the same. The S14 for example is a 240sx in the states because it came with the KA24. In Japan its a 200sx or Silvia because it has the SR20.
What do the taillights have to do with anything? Like I said before, that's an S14 regardless of origin.
@04R666 ive never heard anywhere the engine has anything to do with the name.... i was always under the understanding that the s14 was released in different countries was called different names because ofthe obvious changes in appearance... taillights, wing et cettera.... i knew the engines where different ... because like i said i have an sr20 in my 240 but that doesnt automatically make it a 200sx or silvia.... it will never be one of these.... maybe a clone of one....
@laurentravis2 You obviously do not understand. Those taillights are the same as the 97-98 Kouki lights we have here in the states. In fact, if you paid any attention, you would notice the car in the video is in fact LHD. I never said anything about a swap changing the name. However, from the factory the engine size does affect the name. I will give you another example, In the US the S13 is still called a 240sx. Comes from the factory with a KA24e. In Japan it was a 180sx. Came with the CA18.
@laurentravis2 Or how about the 350z.... VQ35... Now the 370z.... The new 3.7L. Or maybe the G35... Also comes with the VQ35....I don't know how much more clear I can be.
@04R666 lol dude i get what your saying... like i said last time i was always under the impression that where they were released changed the name never thought about the engine changing the name.....but you dont understand what im saying i dont see calling a 240sx a 200sx becasue you put a engine swap in it ... sounds korny to me... say you dress a dog up like a cat its still a dog....lol bad analogy but you get what i mean
@laurentravis2 I never said the name changed when you swapped the engine either. That would be like calling my old civic a GSR. It doesn't work like that. I know. There is nothing you can do to change the name. It is what it is.

Why is it titled 200sx s14? its a 240sx s14. but anyway, beyond that, nice 240.

@s14attack in the european market the 240sx is called the 200sx just like in the japanese market they are called the 180sx and silvia.....

@laurentravis2
Not exactly. It was actually based on the engine. USDM 240sx = KA24(2.4L) 200sx = SR20 (2.0L) 180sx = CA18 (1.8L)
