On the RCM album, Nite Runner, The Valley & Falling Down are my particular favs. Ive gone back to the very first album. Its improved with age....Nightboats still haunting...........
If anyone is unsure about DD's new songs I urge you to go to one of their shows. You WILL be totally blown away! These short clips on here DON'T do them justice LIVE at all! I am STILL shocked, in awe, blown away at them in concert. I never got a chance to see them in the 80's but I made up for that by seeing them twice this year & once 3 years ago. I'm not kidding- GO SEE THEM LIVE. Then tell me what you think of their new (or old) stuff!
I hope that they can release the one that they intended on releasing (it's all finished),but they did RCM instead, I think because Andy has legally tied up the other one from being released. But I could be wrong about that. I think they ARE much better with age. Don't get me wrong they MADE the 80's for me! They formed at the perfect time and their earlier hits are timeless. I think as I age with them I am appreciating them and their new songs more.

I think I thought that DD broke up or something but I started listening to more current artists and a lot of dance music since grunge wasn't for me:) I will have to check out the Beautiful Colors album though.There are many songs I still never heard from them. I am getting re-introduced to DD:)I heard they were coming to Boston in 2005 I knew I had to see them finally!
I've read most his book..[Andy] seems to be a sort of alpha dog and i think that is why he clashed with the 2 other alpha dogs in DD. (Simon + Nick)..I can see him working with anyone including Timber/land/lake if the price was right;). Great song and yes RCM grew on me fast! I love every song! Do you know how rare that is for ME to love every song on a new album from ANYONE???? I don't care if they work with Clay Aiken..I love new directions and sounds..Simon's voice is still pure gold!
The 'New' Duran Duran has split the fans right down the middle. Ive been a loyal fan since Planet Earth. I loved the Astronaut album, just 2 duff tracks for me, Nice and Bedroom Toys. As for Red Carpet Massacre, I wasnt sure at first, but it grew on me & now i love it. Just 1 duffer, Box full of honey.
I've been a Duran fan for many years, but I was so appalled at Astronaut that I dodged the latest album. This tune is good though, I may give the Red Carpet a chance after all....
the only ugly song in the record is the one with the fucking justin timberlacke i think they do that colaborations just to sell records to the american idiots

I totally agree. Ive seen them in the 80s, 90s and 00s. Theyre better now than ever.
They kinda lost their way in the 90s. The gigs were okay, but the albums were a bit weak.
Astronaut was a pure DD album. RCM was experimental. But it worked.
I wonder whats next?

Beautiful Colours was an outstanding album that never was.
Im happy with most of the material theyve released. Just as long as they dont either sell out ( hello 1990s) or loose the Duran sound.
RCM shouldve sold more than it did. Its not their finest hour (my fav DD song), but sure was a hell of alot better than Pop Trash!!!

Ive never lost faith with the boys. I shall continue to buy the dvds, cds and concert tickets.
