  • The problem with socialism happens when big(private) companies are able to bribe politicians to be awarded large contracts which they abuse broadly. Another problem occurs when officials also abuse of taxpayers' money, but who could blame them, capitalists love spending money. The issue is not really politics, the issue is greed.

  • I prefer this guy over Farage;

  • Dear Americans (ChessPieceKnight), I thoroughly agree with you that socialism doesn't work. That being said, it was reported the other day that Palin was going to run for president. I implore you DO NOT VOTE FOR HER! It's not so much her standpoint that I object to, but rather her stupidity. The election of Palin to the presidency would destroy what little credibility the US has left.

  • Get Brownnout. He will ruin the country

  • God bless you sir. Please come over to the United States of America and educate its vastly foolish populace as to why socialism doesn't work.

  • hear hear ChessPieceKnight

  • these socialist scum have ruined so many countries

  • dont forget some socialism is good (the NHS for example)

  • no the NHS has more administrators than doctors.

  • @TheProgressistViewer more administrators than nurses, and each one is on around £150,000 per year.

  • @scottishlad1987 lol... as bad as it gets... At least Brown is on his way out I hear..

  • Let your voices be heard then guys. Tax day tea parties all over the country. Thats april 15. Do IT!

  • THE FOCUS SHOULD BE ON HELPING THE PEOPLE, THE BUSINESSES, THE ENTREPRENEURS.The root of the problem is the Banking Cartel & the FRAUDULENT MONETARY SYSTEM. ! i.e. money issued as debt backed by thin air, no good. Lord rothschild & his empire are the ultimate benefactors of the lie of the global "recession". We need to reclaim our stolen funds en masse from Rothschild & his hierarchy of 3% of the world population who have collared the assets from the 97%. Why is no one addressing this ? CAUSE

  • Its not a conspiracy, its just the result of electing stupid socialists to our respective governments...

Case in point, the morons that make up the majority of my country elected a man who just spend 3 trillion in two months. I of course voted against him.

Blame the communists, not the bankers. Bankers actually serve a purpose.

  • Amen to that. How many more tea bags need to stack up before America takes back its true identity. Small government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

  • We should with hold any more payments to Europe until we are on an even keel.

It is true interest rates were too low for too long, but it is also true that rates rose too quickly and were too high for too long during a time of rampant inflation in energy and fuel costs.

  • Daniel Hannan is truly out to preserve the U.K. from a socialist and tyrannical economy. The only motive behind liberal legislation is to further promote their power.

  • If only Americans had a leader in Congress with the insight, command of the language, and political will to boldly confront Obama and his cabinet of thieves and deceivers with such honesty.

  • we do, his name is Ron Paul.

  • "She said leader not wacko"

Daniel Hannan said he would have voted for that wacko you silly fool.

  • Daniel Hannan is OUR Ron Paul & I am proud of him. :-)

I actually think he's better than Ron Paul but I may be biased ;-)

    Dave.

  • Ron Paul let's every psychopath latch on to his movement and as such undermines himself. I suspect that Hannan would not do so, but rather fight them instead of using them. This is why Paul passes for a wacko - the company he keeps bears on his reputation.

  • Alex Jones

  • Exactly.

  • How is Ron Paul supposed to control who supports him? Nobody can control who supports them. Your comment is absurd.

    Besides, watch this.

    watch?v=8eqJ8k5cjP8

  • By openly declaring them to be part of the enemy. For example, take the various neo-nazi/racist types that back him. Ayn Rand (who Dr. Paul seems to admire) fought these people by calling them out as collectivists and rejecting them openly as allied with the other collectivists around the same premise. Thus Rand considered Libertarians her enemy. By refusing these collectivists, Paul could create a legitimate movement. At present, he is dragged into the gutter by those he "cannot control".

  • Declaring them part of the enemy? Oh brother.

    Rand was Rand.

Ron Paul admired Rand, though she despised him. Collectivists? You are simply regurgitating BS that you don't understand.

Nobody, including Rand can control anyone else. Controlling others, which is a collectivist sort of concept, is the polar opposite of Libertarian ideals.

Nobody can control who supports them.

The prisons are full of criminals, the majority of whom consider themselves mainstream republicans or democrats.

  • Your argument relies on the false premise that by control we mean to literally control, which is of course impossible.

All Paul would need to do is to publicly repudiate these individuals and they would start calling him part of their world conspiracy theories. This only requires Paul to control himself.

What arguments do you have left? Perhaps that Paul needs as many supporters as he can get and that we must not be picky?

Then you're simply building a mob, not an ideological movement.

  • Is he supposed to compile a list of names and read it off in public? WTF?

I'm sure he could borrow the no-fly list, or one of the other many lists the government has of people it considers "enemies."

Ron Paul controls himself quite well. That's about the best anyone can do.

Freedom is popular with many people and its endorsers could be considered a motley crew for certain, as the founding fathers and their supporters were.

Freedom means freedom of ideals as well, even if we disagree.

  • Again, the prisons are full of many people who consider themselves Republicans and Democrats. Does every politician of one party or the other need to assemble a list of these people and publicly repudiate them as well?

    Your concept is simply absurd.

  • This is about ideas, not persons

  • A brilliant orator.

  • bravo

  • beautifull!
