This game is the metalheads version of caslevania. The music is totally metaled out. In the first level alone.The Mentors are running around. You fight a bunch of Overkill's logos. The background you see a cross with a snake and a skull. Looks kinda like Lynch Mob's wicked sensation album cover. Hell the sound it makes when you die sounds like a Yngiew Malmsteen sweeping exercise.

This game is hard a fuck, not picture castlevainia with medusa heads comming both ways and they turn around to come back at you with only two or three hits and your fucking dead. The game is fun, great but impossible kind of like Ghosts And Goblins.

I love the fact that they stole so many sound effects from other games such as Commando's death and Mario's fireballs. This looks like a pretty good game.

this game is awesome, I know that when have 8 years old, at least 20 years. I cannot success all the stage but is a really good game, graphics and sound but the control is a real problem. To me is harder game for NES that I never play.

Just wandering, are you playing this with an emulator, or did you have a cartridge made just like me? Or maybe youre using the famicom-cart?

Maybe its just that I didnt have a gamepad for my pc at the time and had to use the keypad, but the game just rocks so much more when youre playing it with the actual nes-controller

Im not sure if it's "based on" it, seeing how theres no Dio references other than the game title. Despite the references to other Metal icons, I think whoever made this game was a Dio fan, & thought Holy Diver sounded cool, so he made sword n' sorcery out of it in real life.

As I told Frank, if you search for Japanese info on this game, you'll see that you are actually PLAYING AS Ronnie James Dio. The ending contains a bunch of other metal references, too. =)
