Hi nicenfunky,I'm Noah and I'm 13 years old, I just watched your video and I f**cking love it! I really was inspired by the melody of makin a new beat and I heavily hope that you could sent me an audio file of this terrific piece of organ funk.
@Nicenfunky Thanks, I should have just read the description. Your apologies are funny, you've obviously got the feel which makes you real, then again most people who are really good don't think they are.
@wizardmix Yeah I mean I'm obviously not a beginner, I just can't fully kick pedal bass or freak the over-the-top Hammond madness like some of the legit gospel and jazz players that I revere. Not being falsely humble I hope, just a realist in that I've still got a lot to learn. I have to feel it before I can play it.
@Nicenfunky "Not being falsely humble I hope, just a realist in that I've still got a lot to learn." I feel about my bass playing so I totally get it! I'm only inspired by your vid.. I was a beginner once at a number of things I'm now "good" at. Having this A-100 is a great start, nothing like the real thing. I played this groove to my gf to show her what the thing can really do. It cheered her up! PS what are your drawbar settings if you don't mind me asking? Love the tone!
thats uuuuuuh, music soul child just sunny right? with a turn around? alt V at the end. ive grooved with this before, wishing i had a nice organ to do it on though. Great left hand bass dude, used one once in a jazz club with a proper lesley....could have just left me on stage all night! Definitely using some of those licks next time i get to chop through the song, bass player can just sit down for a bit :P
I think it's something like 808833330. I usually just grab a fistful of drawbars and tweak till it sounds good. I've found that different Hammonds emphasize different harmonics on the same drawbar settings too.
HA I feel ya for sure man, I need the beat myself. I'm a guitar player and every now n then dabble in my jazz improv by playing along with this guy I heard on a smooth XM station...Jeff Lorber? You heard him?
I'll listen to those guys as long the don't make atonal space soundscape noises for an hour and a half after charging $20 for a ticket. Gimme some groove, dammit!
I started out as a bass player, and I still process keyboards "bottom up." I play a little drums to work on my left/right independence, too. I don't read music and I haven't had formal lessons. I watch the really legit great players and try to learn what I can! :)
Great! So just getting a big claviature instead of a 25 key midi key board that I've got lol is a big step? Also learning to play song I like by just by soul is that to recommend?
What are you talking about "Apologies?" You didn't miss a note, and your left / right brain is perfect. Go take lessons with Tony Monaco or Joey DeFrancesco and continue on. You've "Got it."
There's not many people who have the perfect "left / right " brain wired thing going, but you've got it.

Yeah, Jeff Lorber still comes back to Portland Ore. a couple times a year and tears the roof off of Jimmy Mak's.
