I grew up hearing my dad listening to these songs and now he would be amazed that I at 25 find these to be the best songs of life. Sparrow was truly gifted. He might be the Michael Jackson of the Caribbean as the music seems to timeless though they tell off the past, they still make you move.

Same here, I grew up riding around NY with my father listening to all the classic calypso songs. The music brings back so many memories.  It just makes me appreciate the fact that my father is still alive today (he's 68). Time for a trip back to Queens...
