Good one....kudos for even having heard of the Cooper Bros. I must plead ignorance on Joe Gordon. I don't know who he was! Ditto Geo. Kell. Tho' both names ring a distant bell....a very faint bell.
@MJVESSIO I know that you know that many players win an MVP but are not the best over a decade. But I can't argue about a guy I know nothing about. And you can't do that about Hornsby....and you can't do that with Yankee history.
You neglected to address those topics in your reply to me I hope it's because you want to do a little research 1st. Something you did not know: The Yanks offered 100K and 3 good players for Ruth. The Sox GM turned down the players. Why? After the sale he joined NY!
@str8carter the research i've done indicates Rajah was a poor defensive player. What am i missing? i'm only interested in how a player will perform in a big 7 game series against top pitching, where defense and clutch hitting matter most. i'm repeating myself. sorry.
@MJVESSIO Believing what modern writers type is hopeless. If you had read as many 50 yr. old books as I have by his contemporaries you would know that there was NO FLAW in his game. And unlike Ted he was loved by the fans. St Louis was in a state of shock after the trade, but were molified when Frisch delivered the good right away.
BTW I can't find that chat feature now! I'm an idiot on the PC...concider coming to Cardinal Heaven! Simple and real time.
