that aint shit..... on a cherub ive been out on the wire on crazy 25,30 knot reach launched of a lump of swell smashed into and nosed dived on swell infront and done a cart wheel.... but hey dont have it on camera so to you it dont mean shyt
dude that was good; why did you disble the ratings? I'm sure that even if it started out low because of a couple negative ones it would eventually get at least 4.5 stars.
One of the best dinghies I've ever sailed. No problems up to 35kts of wind after which thing started to get a bit hairy. Brilliant in big seas. You get more out of the 505 than most other designs including all the modern stuff.
I had a Parker composite she was a beautiful boat to sail and planed in anything over a 3
I experimented with a flat finish below the waterline the idea being to use the waters laminer adhesion on the matt paint to act as a lubricant never really came to a conclusion but I suspect it would have worked better on boats with larger wetted surfaces
470 is a good boat, but 505 is absolutely the best, more faster and funny than any other, no fear the FD, I think the 505 is the most original project.
The 470 came out as a less extreme version of the 505 a few years later. The 505 came out in 1954 and the 470 came out in 1965. The 470 is really just a smaller 505. I prefer the 505 because it is very roomy compared to the 470. Amazing that a design from the 50's is still one of the fastest boats on the water.
This was a sequence from the European Championships in 1990 at Quiberon. We edited the race organisers raw footage for a 505 promotional video in the UK. Subsequently the French Assocaition have added the valued commentary.
Actually, I did not know the origin of the clip, was just dekighted it had been caught. Comments by M. Buffet, the ultimate gentleman racer? I am not worthy!
I think I know that vid, it was part of a tape who met a certain success for the very nice and instructive sequences, such as this one, commented by Marcel Buffet, several time 505 champion and class veteran. Good to hear his voice again !
You said it ;-)

When you disable the ratings it makes people think it will just be fake and not go to it and you loose A LOT of views.

All you guys are retards, thats pretty good for a heavy mono-hull.

While i have to agree that it is pretty good, the 505 is anything but heavy, being only 280 pounds. It's also REALLY fast.
