The guy who drove off the road would probably die whether or not he was wearing a seat belt. Why should the government have a say over how safe I want to be when I drive my car. If the man was really concerned about our safety why is it legal to drive a motorcycle... they don't have seat belts. I choose to wear a seat belt but that doesn't mean someone who doesn't want to should be forced to. They aren't endangering anyone else's lives. This is just a political agenda to suck us dry.
you kno i love it when people watch a video then think they should say something even when they dont kno what they are talking about.
you do have a choice to wear your belt or not but.....
just know this before you go commenting on something you kno little about:
Fatalities and accidents involving those not wearing seat belts cost the U.S. approximately $20 billion per year. Of that cost, 74% of the tab is paid for by the public.
Wow, that's a neat fact. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I have one question though, does not wearing your seat belt increase the cost of an accident. Either way, an accident is an accident whether or not the people in the accident die. For example, it would be cheaper in a plane crash for the people to die so they couldn't sue the airline company.
I don't argue the fact that it is safer to drive with a seat belt though. I wear mine and think it would be a smart decision to wear one.
I think what h0ta1 is trying to say is its much cheaper for us to bill the for system for 25 years of prostate cancer treatments and pain medications & other misc medical procedures rather than one clean sweep and a couple hours of work from a couple salaried employees. Good point! Not moronic or poorly thought out at all. Bring on the police state. We should be made to wear helmets to. Afterall 99.9% of all vehicular deaths were due to people not wearing helmets in their cars.
I agree. This stupid campaign is nothing more than a way for the government to make an easy buck off people. Think about it...nearly 100% of people habitually put their seatbelts on anyway, but god forbid you're caught with it off for 1 second you're busted and forking out an idiodic fine. Love Big Brother monitoring my every move and telling me how to live my life. Wonder who came up with this dumb campaign anyway...bet it was a govn't employee.
Typical self-centered thinking. Part of the reason for wearing a seatbelt is for the safety of other motorists on the road. It has been proven that when a vehicle starts to go out of control, the seat belt restraints help the driver and passengers remain in their seats, which allows the driver a better chance to regain control of the vehicle and avoid a crash or collision. Without the seat belt keeping the driver in place, the driver has a greater chance of losing full control of the vehicle.
Wow, that pinched a nerve. Who said anything about SAVING them? I just want their imminent injuries to cost me less at the six-month point. I couldn't care less about their well-being. Call me selfish...oh, BTW, Santa Claus doesn't exist either, LOL.
yeah, and free hospitals don't really exist anymore for patients....if you don't pay, your credit gets fucked up..if you think that you can go into a hospital(public or private)get treatments and just leave without having to owe anything,it's you that's living in the make believe world...
2 months to come up with that weak comment? Nice job, genius, LOL. I've worked in a general hospital ER...and we NEVER refused care. Also, a lot of these jerks never paid out. You act like these people actually CARE about their credit going to hell....so funny the way you think your own conscientious behavior (which is actually more commendable than many others) is actually mirrored by others.
what a simple guy you are....if you had a modicum of common sense you'd realize that people not wearing seat belts isn't the problem, irresponsible people getting behind the wheel is the problem..last time i checked, strapping on a seat belt Doesnt bolster your I.Q....people like that are gonna cause damage regardless.....this clici it or ticket bullshit is a false solution which was created so that local governments can have more money to waste..
And you think his premiums will cover the hospital stay without others' premiums having to help defray the cost? Oh, you must also believe in the Easter Bunny, and that we're fighting in the middle east over things other than oil....
no i don't believe were fighting in the middle east for stings other than oil...but i do believe that you shouldn't need the government to tell you to do something that should be fucking obvious..what's next.fine people for smoking cigarettes???fine people for eating fatty food???...where does it end????
the problem is people like you who think you can save stupid people from themselves....YOU CAN'T!!!!!
and its absurdity of the first order to think you can...if you deprive stupid people of doing one thing stupid to fuck themselves up,they'll just do something else stupid to fuck themselves up that the public might have to pay for.if stuipd motherfuckers want to
take themselves out by not wearing a seat belt when then get behind the wheel, then by all means we should let them...

Actually if there are other people in your car you can collide with them if your unbelted in an accident and kill them...

OK, but what if the maniac driver didn't hit the curb and hit you instead?

I feel the exact same way. Its a shame how people want the government to take responsibility for telling them what they do to themselves

governments need to be way more selective in who they give a drivers licenses to..

Costs society a lot more to medically treat that stupid-ass unbelted dilweed who survives a wreck than to pay for a dozen houses that got ripped off.
JangoFettaCheeze 4 years ago
what's more important:money or personal freedom????
and what if that dilweed already has insurance???
then it doesn't cost society a penny...
i'd rather see my tax dollars go toward helping a crash victim than see them go toward paying the salary of a bullshit politician...

I wish cops would stop giving people tickets for dumb stuff like not wearing a seat belt, and start catching criminals.
