  • The only people who won was cable TV.

I had to give up on broadcast, way to sucky.

I hate sh.t that works like crap.

  • CABLE ROCKS!

    DTV ROCKS!

  • no signal.

  • first of all digital tv is supposed to take away antennas, so why the hell does it still use antennas. digital tv sucks. whoever decided everyone needed to switch from analog to digital is a complete moron. oh yes and don't forget the half a billion trying to educate 60million people about this change, that money would have been better off educating children on how stupid the economy is. i totally agree that digital tv sucks.

  • The problem is with the antenna, not the technology. you need a "real" traditional outside antenna for decent reception. I live in the sticks and rarely have any problems. Most of the people complaining are using those so-called "digital" antennas or rabbit ears which are good for only 20 miles or so. if you live in a valley or have lots of trees, you need to move or raise your antenna. same applies if you live near a highway funny round or square antennas are for nearby stations only.

  • Digital TV still sucks!! I wish I could put a bullet in my tv daily!!!! Piece of shit!!!!

  • wtf?! Digital TV (DVB-T) here in Greece rocks! it works perfectly!

  • The problem with over the air digital TV's is that you have to get a real strong signal to maintain any kind if audio and video display. If the signal is even close to being below say 85 percent, you will get the pixeling. All those portable digital TV's just plain SUCK! I can receive a better signal from the moon on an analog TV than I can get on a digital TV broadcasting in my own town.

  • you government idiots! i have a radio that can get television signals, but only analog signals. now, i cant use 2 bands on my radio! plus, i have an antenna tv, and well, i cant watch anything on it, just dvds and vhs's i think the government whoswangs are trying to scam us.

  • When we were analogue my picture was perfect but now its all pixely and freezes up.There's fuck all worth watching these days anyway! With digital they can switch off your channels as and when they like, they couldnt do that with analogue. Imagine how good an analogue picture would look on your expensive TV set but instead were forced to run a rolls royce on paraffin! Ive canceled with sky TV cos i wont put up with this glitchy crap. Do they seriously think im going to pay for TV like this?!

  • @morrismagic08 You may have had perfect reception on analogue but the picture is far from perfect. It may be fine on a small tv but an analogue signal on a large tv will look terrible.

That said, I'm really sick of the digital signal skipping and pausing when there's the slightest bad weather. The tv stations need to upgrade their broadcasters or something.

  • @frankovich213 My TV isn't much bigger today than the one i had a few years ago.Something needs to be done agreed. Maybe go back to analogue! lol..chance would be a fine thing!

  • there lying too!! they say to use the extra bandwith for emergency services yet some channels use multi broadcasting which is just like 1 analog signal in terms of bandwith use and it its a hdtv signal then it again uses the same amount of bandwith just a scheme to control us and rip money out of our assholes

  • I hate digital tv ....It's a hokey scam. I would rather watch a snowy t.v. with sound and picture then this b.s. ...I want my old t.v. back. Why do you think i'm watching youtube now....digital t.v always fracs out. it sucks.I even have cable and it still sucks.

  • works just fine for me even if i move the antenna

  • works 100% fine for me

  • Fortunately, Canada will not be switching for a while. While most stations in major cities offer HD broadcasts in digital, the primary broadcast is good old-fashioned analog.

  • I don't even get signals on clear days, I connected my tv to my computer and just watch movies from stagevu now.

  • Yeah, I guess you're right... But I like it in HD, I tried to look for the CW via scanning, but I can't find it at all.

  • Digital Turd Vision

  • I have just given up on regular TV. RIP to an old cherished habit.

Fuck to hell the digital bullshit imposed on all of us. If I want to watch a certain channel I have to endless fiddle with the damn antenna, if I watch another channel I like I gotta do it over again. Then if I set it up just right for the signal to pick up several of my favorites, one of them eventually gives out, and I gotta fuck with it all over. Not as tedious with analog by a long shot. Internet is my new TV!

  • i havent watched tv in a year because of this shit. i cant afford cable or anything so im a slave to this shit. something needs to be changed

  • HDUR. I shouldn't have to REBOOT my TELEVISION every 15-40 minutes. DTV SUCKS.

  • I can not watch a single show with out "No Signal" poping up a few times. I don't want cable and I can't afford it.

  • I hate digital =\.. Is worst than Analog.

  • they want people to buy cable and other shit....im looking at my tv right now and all i see is black

  • digital tv is a gimmick it was just an excuse to get people to pay a bunch of money for digital flat screens it was a greedy gimmick tactic to force people to buy modern tvs to make money it was never intended to improve tv quality

  • I completely agree with your opinion. Digital TV does suck because you either get a signal or you don't. There is no in between. I think it is a scam instigated by our government to make us all get cable or satellite TV, which I'll never do.

  • So freaking true. I can only watch two channels with my piece of crap converter, and of course, it's the two channels that I don't care for. Needless to say, I just don't watch much tv anymore.

  • Just a thought. Your amp is likely overloading your tuner. You're only 20 miles from the broadcast towers. Too much signal can be worse then not enough. I'm over 100miles away from the towers and I'd say my TV reception is about 95% reliable. Not perfect but hey its 100miles. Also try moving your antennas outside. If its an indoor one toss it in the trash.

  • No. Not just a thought. DTV Sucks. Analog reception from the same distance from the towers yielded better performance. THE GOVERNMENT TOOK AWAY OUR RIGHT TO WATCH RELIABLE TV RECEPTION. WHY IS NO ONE DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!

  • amrn i can not watch anything dtv sucks

  • I would rather have a little fuz then the stupid th- with th- and- sev- fou- Fuc- SKIPS!

  • those tvs suck. when i firs saw those digital converter boxes sounded cool. but then there were shit. everytime you moved the channels get mest up. so i upgraded to hdtv in my house and put comcast hd cable and now it works perfect

  • I'm bummed; I can't receive ONE station tonight! I have an idea: Let's all go over to Facebook and join the Group called, 'Digital TV Sucks'. Maybe if we band together we'll get the attention of (???) FCC? Broadcasters Association? Advertisers? At least we can network and try to change this. I feel like we live in a so-called "Third World Country", don't you? I hope you don't mind... I'm gonna copy and paste this comment on more YouTube videos on this subject. Thanks for listening.

  • this happens to me on occasion it sucks

  • FUCK DIGITAL TV!!!!

  • i have a little portablt tv tuner it dosent work where you live but i live in canada and im safe for 3 years

  • American ATSC Sucks.........

City buildings will block the TV signal (Same problem as DVB-T from Europe).

Japanese ISDB-T (And Brasilian SBTVD) Rocks because of geographic conditions of my country (Also Japan), also, city buildings doesn't block the ISDB-T signal.

Regards from Chile. Sorry for my poor english.

  • DTV was a terrible idea. Its like watching a scratched DVD thats always skipping. The better picture quality isnt worth the unreliability, you just never know when its gonna start messing up.

  • I download all the shows I want to watch from IRC or torrent.

    No need for cable.

  • I dont even watch OTA TV anymore thanks to the shit signal and I'm not coughing up money to cable or dish so I watch what little bit of TV I want on sites like HULU. Dumbass idea changing over even if you have a brand new TV and they can stick that damned widescreen aspect ratio - if I want a wide squashed picture I'll draw it on paper. Now my converted 4:3 TVs use about 2/3rds of the screen for the picture. Stupid stupid stupid.

  • I agree with you because pay TV is just as bad because directv is a pain giving you problems in rain and whenever. I always felt when you pay for it, it stay great but that's a load of crap and I live in Georgia and I think DTV is the same with nothing special but extra stations and half the station don't give you that. All I can say is just watch movies or find a hobby because they are screwing over technology and there is nothing we can do.

  • yeah digital tv basically sucks ass. its like watching youtube videos when analog tv already had dvd equivilent picture. it was just a money grab by government agencies so they could auction off the bandwidth used by analog signals and replace it with a much compressed signal band for digital shit.

  • Comment removed

  • My DTV reception sucks ass too. I've tried changing TVs, different DTV antennas, borrowing a neighbor's convertor box, nothing works! Cars going by outside easily steal the signal on 16 out of 20 channels leaving me with a black screen for 5-10 minutes. I live in a huge urban area too. The government is so pathetic for imposing this on us. I will NOT buy into cable or satellite because I think that was their goal in the first place. I'll just pirate movies and music til they fix this shiat.

  • damn it, I want my analog signal back!!!

  • the government will never admit this, but you know deep down, they know it!

  • i think you people should go out more and enjoy your life . get in touch with nature , watch the stars i mean there are so many different things to do for entertainment...

  • Out doors are overrated, see one tree and you seen them all. It is 2009.

  • ever had sex on a field or went on some deserted island ? guess not !

  • I never had, I guess Ill never get the oppertunity to get bitten by bugs on my bare skin or to go to a deserted island, see all there is to see and then have to travel all the way back home where I could have seen it on my HD big screen.

  • i think your life is boring

  • Boredom is just the reverse side of fascination: both depend on being outside rather than inside a situation, and one leads to the other. ~Susan Sontag

  • This is message is bought to you from the guy that is posting messages on youtube ^_^

  • ...like sitting on youtube?

  • good point but YT is not TV. and just for the record : i g

  • Here's the problem- analog has a range of signal strength. If a station is weak, it gets snow, but is still viewable. Digital is all-or-none. In theory, this was supposed to mean all of these weak stations would be clear. In practice, weak stations tend to come and go in terms of signal strength. As a result, you wind up with the digital breakup in this video. I much preferred the snow.

  • Totally fuckin' sucks. Just total garbage.

  • i hate dtv!!!

i cant even watch fox cuz it always freezez

  • same here :(

  • This dtv stuff is a lot like video games of today. The picture quality is beautiful(graphics) but that doesn't make the performance(gameplay) any better.

There's only one analog station left in my area talking about getting a dtv and it runs better that the new digital station for that same channel. I can't even watch pbs anymore.

  • DTV is the worst thing ever ! Even with a brand new tv, I don't get all the channels and the ones I do freeze up ! I HATE IT ! If you don't have cable you may as well just watch the grass grow.

  • Digital TV suck balls!! Just a little wind around 25 mph the signal goes out and all you get is static and if its storm like 50 mph wind or higher then all you gonna get is blank screen. Recently we had a lightning storm and the picture turns pink and sometime blue.. That never happen with analog. I'm gonna miss analog.

  • This happens to my television every few minutes. DTV is horrible, We all need to make a stand!

  • Why not have bonus channels with the analog?

Why not have HDTV over analog?

    Why not side-channeling?

  • Why not a compromise?

  • A prime example of the digital TV disaster. The sad thing is that this example is not some rare oddity, it's a very common occurance!

  • too MUCH signal...loose the booster !

  • cant fucking wait to watch this shit the the goverment is not going to digital at all becasue it sucks

  • Deadline on due june 12, 2009. it will lose rabbit Ears. If back to digital you. IT LAW!

  • Fuck you and that fake law.

    1st Ammendment,noob.

  • WRONG YOU!! Good bye analog on june 12, 2009.

  • Piff!

    Not totally gone.

Low power stations, stuff leaking off cable lines, and so called "Pirate Radio" television stations lmay exist.

  • All of this brought to you by todays FCC. A subsidiary of Sprint-Nextel, McCaw, at&t, Verizon and other lobbyists who really own and control the game and ENJOY watching YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY.

  • Did you know, that a Firefighter in virginia DIED because of the digital radio system his department was using? He was GASPING FOR AIR while drenched in the flames but he could NOT get through for help because the air alaram on his uniform let out a large wailing sound and the digital radio made his voice all garbled on the other end and nobody could hear him!!! ANALOG DOESN'T DO THIS.

  • DTV is for people who live in the SAME CITY as the tower. Nobody cares about us Little guys who scrape by with little or no reception at all.

  • i live next to the tower and it still freezes

  • The big claim is that you get more channels but only for the blessed few within range of the frail frequencies. NOT for those who television was intended to serve, the masses of American consumers. If Digital TV was such a better and preferred thing the market forces would of moved toward it by simple consumer demand just as cellular telephone is overwhelming the land line or the way that the light bulb eclipsed the candle or asphalt paved over dirt roads. Digital TV SUCKS. Plain and simple.

  • Why? Because these strong and durable proven by 75 years of research and satisfaction are the most valuable frequencies available in the spectrum. The idea that the American consumer is being screwed by congress and the big business connection is just icing on the cake for those who profit from the DTV evolution.

  • Idiot in the pocket of the TV manufactures looking to get everyone to toss out the bullet proof CRT design invented for long term reliability and buy the new disposable failure prone flat panel displays or the DLP projectors requiring a $300 bulb every 18 months. Idiots who insure flocks of television starved Americans race toward cable companies then sell the same right to the same frequencies they have stolen from the American people to the communication companies for billions of dollars.

  • Idiots who gave no thought to reliable operation as they made the call to place the most demanded communication device on the most frail frequencies available. Frequencies that can offer durable service for 25 miles, not the 70-100 mile range that television was intended for. Idiots in the pocket of the cable companies and the satellite companies looking to sell subscribers.

  • It was not by accident that reliable transmissions were placed on reliable frequencies capable of carrying for very long distances. It only made good sense. And why does digital television suffer from such reliability issues such as pixilation, dropouts, failure to scan, loss of image, or nothing at all? Because digital television was thought out by congress and these guys are idiots in the pockets of big business parading as representatives of the people.

  • Why is Analog television such a good thing and Digital television such a bad thing? Because analog television was invented and thought out. It was tested and improved in research labs. There was a real ambition to improve things and make things reliable. That is why the television channels were placed on VHF frequencies.

  • My digital TV works when the weather is good. When it's windy, the quality drops a lot and in a storm, it doesn't work at all. These problems were not present with analog TV. And in Finland there are no analog broadcasts anymore...

  • I find it funny when my tv does this.

  • I'm done with it. I'm not wasting anymore of my hard earned dollars or my precious time trying to get it to work. It's a big rip off setup by the government and the cable company.

Shut your television off and enjoy life. Hows that sound?

  • Well, maybe that is the easy way out, rep0eagle, but I am not, nor have I ever been, for the easy way out, sir. Also, if you were a true fighter against the media, then instead of just boycotting it, you would take it over and make the shitheads pay for their deceptions and crimes against humanity. As for how it sounds, it sucks because I happen to be a writer in real life and I am good at writing and I do not want to give up on my dream.

  • Go dish or Direc or FTA...

I personally would go fta myself but I dont know how to set up a dish so I got direct if your willing to put in the time get an fta (the gov will hate you for it but o well) You'll have billions of channels

  • FTA is sooo much trouble. I constantly get "scrambled channel" even after i update my box with the most current codes. I DONT recommend it at all!

  • Mine works just fine, with an antenna pointed South West towards a station that's about 70 miles away from me, and one is pointed South East to a TV station about 45 miles from me, and another TV station is also South East of me too, but in a slightly different direction than the one the antenna is pointed at, and that station is around 90 miles from me, and I'm getting signals from all of them. Watch my video called "Comments On Digital TV As Of 3/15/09." Video Response if it's allowed to post.

  • By the way, the antenna I had used to pick up analog TV, pointed South East, wouldn't pick up the digital signal very well, like what you showed in this video, but I had found out that that station was running only half of its full output power back then, but has gone to full power after they shut off the analog signal. That 90-Mile VHf/50-Mile UHf antenna I turned Sout West, to get the station that's 70 miles away from me, and I'm using a 120-mile VHf/100?-Mile UHf antenna for the SE direction.

  • I was looking at a Google Earth map, and I was mistaken, Fox55 is only about 70 miles from me, not 90, and the direction isn't far off from where I have the antenna pointed. However, Rib Mountain, a hill actually, about 1,940 feet tall, 2,000 feet measured to the top of the 60-foot observation tower, so it gets classified as a mountain, is right between me and Fox55, Channels 55-1 and 55-2, and if you watch my video, it comes in here anywhere from a 45 to 75 signal strength.

  • The point is, DTV works just fine here, even for the distances from the TV stations to me, but I was going to mention that I was watching another video where a person said that he could only get 2 stations and not very well, the one talking about "give me back rabbit ears," and I saw rabbit ears sitting on his TV, so I wondered whether he was trying to receive DTV with those rabbit ears, which may work up to 20 or 30 miles but I also wondered if he was using the UHF portion of the antenna or not

  • If you use rabbit ears, make sure you're connected to the UHf part of the antenna, the round ring or the "bowtie" part of it, not the VHf part of the antenna, the extendable dipole part, or DTV won't work too well. Sorry for all of these posts, but I'm trying to give out advice and/or to help people in any way that I can. Have a Great Day, Bernard

  • DTV SUCKS.....oh I forgot about the bonus channels... yay!

  • if you do not have a metal roof try a attic antenna with a good booster and FM trap(s) the 8bay bowtie dipole is the best UHF but most markets will have VHF so if you are further than 25miles from the tower(s) you want to receive you likely cannot get enough gain from a non directional antenna SO it means putting up a antenna away from trees or higher than any surface than can reflect the signal (30ft) a rotator and I recommend a 75ohm antenna so you do not need a balun/ matching transformer

  • ...to run the signal straight to 75ohm input of a low noise low (12-18db) preamp & down to set. A FM trap, if seperate goes in between amp & the antenna. I have seen FM interference harmonics generated in preamps all over TV from ch 6 to 13 and even up around 22UHF so, to be safe trap it out & if there are any CB or hams close, get other filters for that. IF analogs had "tracer bullets" in them thats AC line noise, try trap/filter that & complain to the power corp to check for arcs .

  • (I meant to say most markets will have A Vhf station, most have went up to UHF channels as they are less suseptable to interference but they do not go the same distance per watts of power) The lower power consumption was a big factor for the digital switch as stations footprint distance on digital is similar for much lower watts EFP-effective radiated power.

BUT the recievers cannot handle much reflection or co-channel from other DTV stations. Analog should be allowed to stay on at LPTV levels.

  • On the Camera in the converter I get a catalog with these built in to can openers to Smoke detectors to what ever... In UK I could see how this would be more practicle as they have vans that go around looking for unlicensed TVs and yes the tuner in a tv or DTV box does re-emit the channel you are watching. as does the display device, CRT or VGA or LCD displays can be homed in on to see what is on the screen. I first found this out 30yrs ago when...

  • when CATV came out to our country home as I was growing up, we had a nice backyard Tower and duel antenna with rotator so we could get TV signals in different directions, the neighbors got cable & we could rotate the VHF antenna toward their DEN and especially when they were watching CNN on VHF 13 or TBS on 11 (the super station 11 from Atlanta ) we could see the picture but not get the sound & it did cause our OTA over the air receptions to be diminished BUT this vid is likely a hoax

  • Digital TV is far from ready.

  • The recievers need more filters for rejecting reflected signals but the public is also not ready as folks have forgottong how to use antennas, and digital is different in that you cannot adjust the antenna while you watch the snow get better. GOOD FAST SIGNAL METERS ARE NEEDED in the boxes PERIOD.

oh and all BOXES need ANALOG pass through manditory, recall those that don't ! there will still be LPTV analogs and mexican analogs for several years.

  • I have three DTV boxes and none of them have analog pass-through but I made my own pass-through by using a signal splitter and I connected the antenna to the splitter connected the antenna to the TV from the splitter to get the analog part then also connected the antenna from the splitter to the DTV converter box and used the composite connection to the A/V connection of the TV for the digital part The other names for A/V could be AUX, FRNT etc I use the audio composite to my stereo for sound

  • Perhaps you need to adjust your antenna as the instructions said.

  • You're 100% right as long as you're advocating needless tax increases. Digital TV is nanny-state material! The FCC and the cable-clowns put this stuff up, so they can track better what we watch, when we watch.

The problem they have is that it does not work, as the video clearly shows.

  • @DigitalTVsucks Just buy a antenna that gets a clear signal!

  • Hi,you are right about digital tv DigitalTVsucks.

  • Digital tv doesn't work!!! Couldn't watch the game without the serious jaggies. Nor the ads--and we even got the 3-D glasses!!! What is going on???? Rip-off!!!

Is it Cable or is it a cabal???

    Airwaves should be free!
