Cop Protecting People From Freedom of The Press

There are multiple videos on YouTube documenting this same problem with police telling people they have no free speech rights when a group "reserves" a public area. Something I've wondered about is whether the "reservation" applies to just the streets or also the adjacent public sidewalks. How much control are the police claiming these groups have over these public areas? Can they prohibit anyone from the area for any reason?

2. you should probably check with your city/county to make sure there is not an ordinance against it infront of that building they are not saying u cant do it in the whole town just a small part of it.

The problem is you weren't "permitted" to do this. At the Circleville, Ohio Pumpkin Show - "The Greatest "Free" Show On Earth" they literally use a tall clown on skates with a police 2way radio to look out for and enforce any "non-permitted" actions of free speech. "Hmm, what is this? Anti-war pamphlets - NOT PERMITTED!" We have sacrificed far too much by thinking these enforced comfort zones are for our greater good.

@asdf12347109 It's a public street in the Twin Cities where a public art fair was held, these men were filming and conducting interviews then told by the police that they couldn't interview people in this air because of the festival. Maybe police officers should know the law and take their oath and training more seriously and we wouldn't have to sift through the millions of little injustices that take place and upload them to the worldwide web.
