  • @chrish12345 LOL - I assume you forgive me!!! Thank you! :)

  • The young soldier deserved it , showing off like that, Robert Ryan had no choice !!

  • @25ghr Totally agree; he was clearly provoking Ryan, who was just minding his own business.

  • that girls in the bar is Ms Lampert? Wowwww

  • @TheGardeliano Yup!

  • I would love to see this movie in its entirety. It's deep. Don't worry...not a request. I'll find it somewhere.

  • @ThatsMrMoronToYou Yeah: It's a great one! And I know someone had uploaded the whole thing, unless it's been removed. Forgot who it was. Sorry.

  • Great Post! Hiya, Franny!

this is a great movie... always thought Ryan was totally in the right in this scene. Did you know he played tough guys, racists, killers, etc- but was one of the most liberal, committed, and beloved actors of his time? He marched with King a lot of times, was at the March on Washington and many other demonstrations.

Jimmy Stewart, on the other hand, always played liberals but was slightly to the right of Barry Goldwater.

  • Hey Giles: First comment! Congrats!! And thanks. Yes my dear: I love Robert Ryan and have known all about him and his politics for a long time. That's the essence of acting: the racist on the screen is a Progressive in real life. And he and Belafonte were great friends. Will send you something. Franny
