That's pretty much what this documentary is trying to bring to light. To save the dolphins as well as the innocent people who are consuming the meat unknowingly.

There are some things that are completely false in this movie, such as, places like SeaWorld do not get their dolphins from "The Cove" they get their dolphins from a succesful breeding program. Only marine park in asia get their dolphins from the wild! @vannaweekes Most of the people in Japan don't even know that they're eating dolphin meat, let alone know about the hight levels of mercury in them. That's pretty much what this documentary is trying to bring to light. To save the dolphins as well as the innocent people who are consuming the meat unknowingly.

There are some things that are completely false in this movie, such as, places like SeaWorld do not get their dolphins from "The Cove" they get their dolphins from a succesful breeding program. Only marine park in asia get their dolphins from the wild! There is a video about other false statements from the cove called "Investigation of The Cove" Other than that, I thank the creaters of the cove very much for their hard work.

The guy who directed "The Cove" should be given a Nobel Peace Prize! Dolphin meats have high Mercury levels and it is poisonous if consumed. They are friendly if not shy to us humans. I'm for the humane treatment of animals AND human beings. so dont get me wrong.. im not against the killing of dolphins. but there is no need for a film to target or antagonize one group or one country, of course, unless it's done on purpose. the film could have easily included other countries currently killing dolphins as part of a film about dolphins killing. Instead it chose to target japan. What about Denmark or Norway?

KFC, Mcdicks, hello?! and it upsets me too, but people used to have it for food, and now that that has continued, people there will have no jobs. It takes time, you can't just outlaw it and fire all these people and leave them homeless, its all they know. You have to take on the perspective of both sides, and see why they do it, first of all.

Americans like Halibut for fish & chips but have over harvested it. Only the wealthy can eat whale, halibut, tuna, lobster & crab at will. If we eat all the chickens, there will be no eggs. We all live on islands& our resources are depleted. Must we drive all species to extinction & then eat each other?

@rwcbanzai sure may be whales meat is rather expensive in Japan now. but when i was a grade school, the flyed whale meat is eaten by children as regular dish of school. my family annual income is about 40 thouthand dollers due to recent strong Yen about 3 million yen. my family members are only i and my mother. and income is my mothers pension and my social care money and some from saving from my late fathers saving. but when our nearby supermarket treate whale meat i ask my mother to buy it.
