I said this with a bit of sarcasim. Truly, we do not know what we are receiving as in the case of gardasil. It didn't get its 7 year wait like other drugs. A recommendation is not the same as a mandate.

HPV is not a childhood illness like chicken pox, so there is a difference. A recommendation means you have a choice, whereas a mandate you do not. The opt-out was to appease angry parents. And, yes, the gov't will apologize years from now as they have done in the past. History tends to repeat itself.
