I've decided to try ending this argument by looking it up, and while Sheik is considered a boy in the ocarina of time game, he is considered a girl in super smash bros. brawl, most likely due to the fact that sheik doesn't appear in the brawl storyline until zelda transforms into him/her. It is also interesting to note that in super smash bros. brawl, sheik has a braided ponytail, whereas in ocarina of time, he/she does not.

I used to play this game all the time. I always started new games because I couldnt beat the god damn water temple! I always wondered who sheik was. Then I accidentally had it spoiled a bit before I finally beat the game.

It is as if you were saying that Epona is a stallion ( You do know she is a mare, right? ), but even like that, Sheik's gender is a lot more obvious. She turns into Zelda in front of your eyes, I don't see why you can't understand that. It wouldn't make sense that a random Sheika has the power of wisdom now would it ? @Unolai Okay, here's something interesting. I've decided to try ending this argument by looking it up, and while Sheik is considered a boy in the ocarina of time game, he is considered a girl in super smash bros. brawl, most likely due to the fact that sheik doesn't appear in the brawl storyline until zelda transforms into him/her. It is also interesting to note that in super smash bros. brawl, sheik has a braided ponytail, whereas in ocarina of time, he/she does not.

With something as clear as this it just makes me literally laugh whenever I see someone questioning who Sheik is and then claiming to have played OOT. I mean..the game tells you. Is it denial? Maybe they never finished the game? Sheik isn't his (or rather HER) own being. Sheik is not a separate character like say Link, Malon, Tingle, etc. Sheik is simply a mere costume and/or mask of Zelda. A disguise. Even if magic is involved. There is no room for discussion or wonder. It is what it is.

I used to play this game all the time. I always started new games because I couldnt beat the god damn water temple! I always wondered who sheik was. Then I accidentally had it spoiled a bit before I finally beat the game.

Sheik's voice sounds feminine in this game when compared to others, especially Link. It's not even a bishonen sort of feminine. It's quite easy to tell her gender if you listen to her voice.

II never liked how they treated Zelda in this game.
When Zelda is posing as Sheik she is awesome.
But when Zelda is herself she is your standard damsel in distress, albeit slightly useful.

@Sjalvastefan i agree...she's this sick stealthy character and then is all of a sudden seems so helpless as the princess. like really, you need to be a little braver than that to survive in the shadows for SEVEN YEARS! i love how zelda trampled the damsel in distress role by being sheik, but it would have been cooler if she fought or did some magic once revealed. anyways sheik/zelda is definitely one of the most interesting characters in video history.
