No offense. I read about that Palestinian Arabs are very diverse-they consist of different groups from nomads Bedouins to city dwellers of Christians/Muslims. Yet, since i have no close Palestinian friends, i don't know how "Westernized" (at least the way the dressed up) they were before 1947 and i assumed that probably Christian Palestinians would prefer a more Westernized dress codes in the old days.

No offense. I read about that Palestinian Arabs are very diverse-they consist of different groups from nomads Bedouins to city dwellers of Christians/Muslims. Yet, since i have no close Palestinian friends, i don't know how "Westernized" (at least the way the dressed up) they were before 1947 and i assumed that probably Christian Palestinians would prefer a more Westernized dress codes in the old days.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't "Palestine" actually called "Philistine" (named by greek sailors) and for the longest time under the control of the Ottoman Turks, which explains why they look so civilized and distinguished? Then after WW1 the Allies, after defeating the Turks, partitioned the land into what was called the "Palestine Mandate". Post WW2 the land was divided again into two areas: Israel and Jordan. It was at this time that other countries were formed, like Iraq and Iran
