@Bethintx1 Thank you! It was my first one. My grandma taught me to crochet when I was about 10. I'll be uploading a video soon! This is so gorgeous though. What brand/yarn supplier did you use?
This is SOOOO Beautiful!! I used to make quilts and have recently taken up crochet and I must say that this inspires me to make one myself. Thank you for showing us! :)
You say that it's a handmade item, so it won't be perfect, but honestly, I think quite the opposite. It may not be machine made, but that's what makes it great. When someone makes a project as wonderful as this, it is made with the care and love necessary to keep a person, as well as their very soul, warm and comfortable.
@rinirino I'm glad you figured it out. I'll have to take a day and place annotations on the video with links to the next one... in the mean time be sure to scroll down to the video responses to find the next one or find the play list. They are in order. I make play lists for all of my video series. You can find play lists on my channel page.
this is so beautiful! I make "quilts" out of scrap yarn. usually squares put together with a contrasting yarn in between. this is a new inspiration for me, thanks so much!! Debi from Pennsylvania
I have made this afghan... It is the first one I ever kept for myself. This one was a little more difficult than I am used to (and it is the 45th afghan I have made). I feel it was a great accomplishment to actually finish it. I have it laying over the back of my brown couch. I get MANY compliments on this one and even received a special recognition ribbon for it at the County fair. I don't think I would ever make one of this pattern to sell.... It would cost too much.
Hello beth, from Spain, God bless you so much, escuse me my english, is not very good, but I want to say thank you so much for to share your work´s, it´s fantastic this blanket, I love crochet and I´m learning very much whith you.
Blocking is shaping a finished piece of knitting or crochet. It's generally done by wetting the piece and shaping or smoothing the piece out and letting it dry. On certain items they are pinned into shape.
wow beth, this is beautiful!

My mom says that you can iron it low heat with a newspaper on it...
montrealstars60 1 year ago
Great tip except I would not use newspaper. The ink may come off onto the afghan, perhaps use a press cloth.

Hi,
this is great. I am wondering how much would this worth. like if I have to buy it from you how much will it be???
Thank you
ferbasar 1 year ago
I really would not make it to sell, I would never get enough money for my time. I'm guessing about $200 would cover the materials & over-head.
Bethintx1 1 year ago
thank you very much for your super duper fast reply...
I know you would never get paid for your time. They think it is our hobby and we shouldn't charge them (do it for free)
Very nice again thank you very much

Your videos are very clear andeasy to follow. Do you have one for a Baby Ripple Afghan?
ewelsch53 2 years ago
Sorry no. There may be some other teachers who have. Do a search on You Tube, or even a Google search for Baby Ripple Afghan Tutorial.

do you have to block your afghans?
redneckbikergirl 2 years ago
No. If you don't mind it rippling, then don't bother blocking it.
I do not block most of my afghans. I just block some of them that are pieced to give it a nice polished finished look.

Hmmm? I wonder what I did to make the video smaller?! Must have happened when I spliced them together.
