  • @vsldavid Thanks for the vid. I never did know the difference.

    Phil

  • Interesting! Good to know these things :D.

  • Hello David,

a very interesting video, that really describes very well the difference between sandblasted and rusticated pipes. I like both of them, but I have more sandblasted pipes than rustivated pipes. Your black Savinelli is a beauty. Like the shape...

    Take care!

    Cheers

    Lars

  • A lot of sand is silicone.

  • Very illuminating. Thanks, David. I knew the basic difference between the two techniques, but you filled in some good details related to the grain.

  • Another great vid sir.

  • great video my friend

    keep em smoking

  • Thanks for the definitions and visual descriptions David, nice to have it cleared up!

    -Travis

  • Great video as always David!

One topic I'd like to see you discuss is your thoughts on pipe packing. I know there are tons of videos on Youtube about it, but it seems you would be an expert on it. I say this because I notice that in many videos you'll talk for a minute or more without drawing on the pipe and the pipe will still be smoldering.

  • Very well explained Dave. Another thorough and informative video. Keep 'em coming.

    Cheers,

    Ron

  • Thanks Dave, Hope all is well.

    Dan

  • Good information as always!

  • Very interesting and informative video. Cheers!

  • Thanks for the explanation! I have 1 rusticated Peterson and my most beautiful sandblasted pipe is my Mastro de Paja. The grain and texture of the briar comes out extremely beautiful in this pipe. I made a box opening video of it. As always, your video's are very well explained. Thanks for sharing this with us! Regards, Mark

  • Great video! I love those Savinelli Porto Cervo pipes. I have a #122 shape in that style, and may order another just because I like that really earthy rustication. I don't see them as often as I did a couple of years ago.

  • great video. Very direct, professional, and informative

  • Very interesting and informative. Thanks for posting.

  • David, Another worthy VSL video. Thank you.

    Respectfully,

  • Okay, now I know the difference. To be honest I always felt rather stupid because I was ignorant of this. Good info. David thanks. I am smoking a new Savenelli at the moment. Just arrived today and purchased from my favorite dealer. Maybe you have heard of him. VSL. :)

    Be well,

    ~Tom

  • Hey there brother, great to see you "on" again. As usual tremendous and informative video. I hope all is well with you and that your wife is doing better. I remember you both in prayer occasionally I am mindful that life is not easy for you and hope in the mercy and grace of Christ for things to get better. P
