  • Love how she slam de "Hello There" sign to say "Hell Here"

  • You know your life is pathetic when you can completely identify with her. <_<

  • She will always be the best cat woman ever. The new one is going to suck :P

  • Honey I'm Home......oh right im not married LOL

  • the Perfect women for the Perfect role, sexy voice, beautiful, with the best figure to match a cat. i guess they will immortally fail to re-do catwoman in this perfect concept with this Danny elfman music.

  • i love this scene even thou i don't know how she made one leather jacket into full body costume complete with gloves and mask.

  • @MrRaccoon92 LOL... It was a leather trenchcoat. She already had the gloves and possible even the corset (though I'm not sure about the corset). The back of the trench coat and from the hips down could be used as the upper pants. She had high heeled boots, so she didn't need to worry about the calves on down.

I could see it's possible, but you're right... it was quite a stretch. The costume is wayyyy kick-ass, too!

  • Catnipe is baaaaadddd

  • this is how i feel after a long day at work, in which i was pushed out of a window by my boss

  • Somehow people miss out on the point ere,....she was killed ....she was victimized.

    She wants revenge........

  • i love how batman is the vigilante, catwomen is a thief yet they work not together, but they don't get in eachothers way either.

  • The transformation scene gave me the creeps as a child, but I was so intrigued by it...

  • continue.......... In some weird coincidence I sorta have that same reaction about this film that the angry video game nerd does, I saw this when I was a little kid, and I loved it but now every time I see it, it doesn't hold up as well, but aside from twisted concept of this film, it's still good, but just not as good as the first one was.

  • in my opinion, I think this movie is good, but not as good as the first one, the first one was great, the darkness and twistedness was at a necessary and good level, but here, it kinda goes overboard and this scene is a fine example, she wants to get revenge on max shreck but why does that make her angry and destroy her OWN apartment, why not destroy max shreck's sftuff, i know she does later in the movie but still this scene is just weird and twisted.

    ran out of space

    (stupid character limit)

  • @TheChrisomatic The pink walls, stuffed animals, nicknacks, girlish clothing, and dismissive/condescending messages on her machine have her feeling like a doormat. This is everything she doesn't want to be anymore, hence her rage against it. There's a play called /A Doll's House/ by Henrik Ibsen, where a woman breaks free of a submissive life, and among everything else here, Selena Kyle defaces her own doll's house that she keeps in the bedroom, a rather deep symbol for her. Hot stuff.

  • @FirstTakeNate yeah that does make sence, she HAS had a pretty shitty life, and max shreck trying to kill her after all she's done for him just pushes her even more, plus it did change her life alot especially when that cats started chewing her her fingers she definetely started changing into cat woman and when she destroyed her apartment she was acting like, well A CAT. and also when they gave her the message about max shreck on the phone that left her feeling like a doormat under max shreck.

  • @deathtoyouall would you try to rob her? That chick is flipping out

  • This is the best scene in the entire film

  • anyone else notice she does all this with the front door still hanging open?

  • Não existira ninguem que faça o melhor papel que Michelle fez com Catwoman, ela esta ligada a personagem quando lembro da Mulher-Gato lembro desta maravilhosa Atriz *-*

  • Thats one of my fave parts to

  • OCCUPY GOTHAM, NOW!!

    xD

  • Girlfriend does this all the time

  • Strangely enough... most times it feels as if my husband and I are what might happen and look like if The Joker and Catwoman somehow were together. Their character, not any of the people/actors that have ever portrayed them. Just... their ideals, ways of thinking about the world, and how we're viewed sometimes by outsiders...

  • @canadianguy0987 Heh, yeah I know what'cha mean and how ya feel.

Now imagine... how it feels... to know... how SHE feels... -_-

This portrayal of Catwoman is Classic in it's own unique way. Dark, full of true feeling, and unforgettable...

  • PMS.

  • i had a breakdown like this today...

  • She looks so insane when she put the stuffed animal to shred in the sink lol

  • I'm sorry, but can you seriously see Anne Hathaway acting like this???? Michelle Pfeiffer was how Heath Ledger was for the Joker. If Catwoman doesn't act like this in The dark Knight Rises, then they pretty much took The Black Cat from Spider-man and put it in Batman.

  • To me this scene is scary to me. Simply because it feels as if Batman can stop villians but he can't stop people from becoming them..

  • @Bl4ckM4gic037 Not only that... but he saved her life once when she needed it. She was grateful, and maybe even for just a moment... felt secure. THEN her boss f@#&ing tries to KILL HER! Shoves her out a window! Terrified, screaming, FALLING TO HER IMPENDING DOOM and... Batman wasn't there. He didn't save her. He didn't come. And... now... he never can. It's too late. Hence her resentment of him (as I see and believe it in this motion picture) and her new-found cat-like independence.

  • just admit it. we all wanted batman and catwomen to fuck at the end.

  • there is never gona be a catwoman like Michelle Pfeiffer <3. Fuck of Berry -.-

  • Best transition ever!!!

  • "Who knew she had a brain to damage?"

  • the fuck is going on up there???! crazy cat lady's at it again. when they gonna evict her ass?

  • This is one of my favourite movies, ever since I was a little girl this scene made me feel so empowered. It's dark, sexy and twisted, Michelle Pfeiffer is exceptional as Catwoman <3

  • love her personality :)

  • i bet behind the scenes when burton looked a this BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL room he said "smash the place up!! here i'll give you a black spray can, just destroy it please"

  • uh milk isn't the best thing to give your cats...

  • It's kind of interesting to watch Michelle Pfeiffer as a disturbed, damaged sort of anti-hero in this movie, and at the same time realize that this is the same actress who provided the voice of Moses' wife Tzipporah in "The Prince of Egypt." A good example of going across the spectrum, one might say.

  • I can't wait to see how Anne Hatheway does with the Catwoman role! :D

  • Burton should have went with the original script by having Selina not make her catsuit all in one night. It was a lot more realistic and the orginal scene was sexier in the script than it ended up being. Orginally, Selina sits pn the floor wearing only her pink now black football jersey and wearing no underwear and gives her cat milk. Then she does the whole so much yummier line.

Plus the shot Burton choose was too far away, he should have went with a closer shot.

  • @TeenWitchboy jajajajaja!!!!

  • "All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest woman alive to lunacy."

  • @atomofish or a period lol

  • I would want her doll house she spray painted shoot!!!!!

  • I think this is me in 5 years.

  • @HotBroodish Why wait?

  • I so much prefer this era of Batman movies to the latest. Yeah, the latest is "gritty" and all that, and while they're undeniably well made, they just dont' feel magical. THIS video clip and the movie it comes from, in my opinion, is what movie magic is made of--something from the imagination, something from another world. Not something slick and as in your face as an episode of Deal or No Deal. I'd rather be pulled into another world, not pushed back in my chair and left remaining in this one.

  • @WastedPo absolutely agreed.

  • @WastedPo I kind of agree and disagree I understand what u say about the FANTASY feeling... however I think this movies were made in a realistic fantastic way..... the rest of them were like CARTOONISH... and they were very infant like.... I mean Batman Return made me feel that I was INSIDE the movie... and when I get that feeling is a great movie....

  • @calvinxchange, I think maybe I should elaborate. I totally agree with you on how great the atmostphere in Batman Returns is. I also liked the first Batman directed by Tim Burton. When I said that I prefer this "era" of Batman movies to the newest ones, I do NOT mean to include the awful two movies directedy by Joel Schumacher. (Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.) As you say, those were just infant like.

  • all of Danny Elfman's shit is sick, but i think this score and Edward Scissorhands were his best work. Burton and Elfman..best audio/visual movie making tandem probably ever.

  • Oh my God! Those poor stuffed animals!

  • Nothing as sexy as this Catowman!

  • batman (1989) and batman returns were very dark had intresting charachters and scenery. batman forever and robin were over the top and silly. 2 cartoonish and not serious. i still think batman (1989) was better then the dark knight (sue me). bat man is supposed to be about batman. darkknight should of been called joker chronicles or just the joker. plus darknight was too much action oriented and john woo style. i miss butons wild and whitty freak fests :)

  • NOT THE SOCK MONKEY!

  • God, imagine how fun this was to shoot.

  • Priceless, wonderful, awesome, magnificent, lovely, spectacular !!! thumbs up for Michelle, no one can play the Catwoman character as perfect as Michelle :-)

    L ~

  • When they first announced that catwoman was going to be in the third batman movie I was happy. I immediately thought Amanda Seyfried. She can go from a sweet girl to a total psycho (ex. Jennifers Body & Chloe) and still be sexy. Sad to know they didn't even consider her for the role. Oh well... I just hope Hathaway does a good job with this role she got.

P.S. Michelle will stay as my favorite catwoman no matter what!

  • @mexikankutty

I agree. She wouldn't as good as Michelle did, but i think she would be about or as sexier than Michelle was. She has a more sexual personality than Michelle

  • @mexikankutty Is Anne Hathaway supposed to play the role of Catwoman in the next batman film?

  • @SuperAnNoula1 Yes she is. But so far they have screwed things up tremendously!!!

Her costume is completely differently from the one we all know and love. It has nothing to do with a cat whatsoever. It's a plain leather suit with no detail and a pair of hi tech glasses. She doesn't even have her whip!!!

  • @TheeOnlyPhoenix Have you ever stopped to think that, like Two-Face and Scarecrow, she's meant to GROW into being Catwoman over the course of the film? Or do you, like everyone else on the internet, insist on bitching before the final movie is released?

  • @mexikankutty I hope they really do something about the costume though. The way it looks right now is horrible. It has nothing to do with the original costume. She doesn't even have her whip!!!

  • is it wrong that this video gave me a boner?

  • @ClarifyEht

No, not at all. I had my first one watching this too.

  • @ClarifyEht id be wrong if it DIDNT give you a boner

  • "Hell here" =>

This movie was goddamned epic, and Pfeiffer was god as the Catwoman. There will never be a better one. period.

  • remember when tim burton's films had meaning. i miss those days

  • I love the music. Danny Elfman's score fits the scene perfectly, as usual. But... lol, I've always wondered why all the whacko stuff happens in Gotham and nowhere else XD.

  • Her scream at 1:11 is one of the best movie screams of all time.

Pfeiffer has what NO actress has today: mystique

  • Tim Burton is good at making very dark and creepy movies, and that also explains catwoman a lot! Nolan on the other hand may take a different route and change catwoman's style. Dark and sexy was what Michelle put in this movie. Anne may have a chance at catwoman too, but i am not too sure (Dark, sly and sexy maybe isn't Hathaway's thing). I would really like to see Michelle act as catwoman in one more batman movie!

  • @GeekyKevin Let's a least hope that Anne Hathaway does a better job than Halle Berry.

  • @krazyboyle1 yea the halle berry one wasn't really catwoman, just a woman in leather jumping off buildings! Anne Hathaway is a GREAT actress, she'll do fine :)

  • This is one those rare scene's in the film, when it's not only dark, but also psychotic, which means it can be taken seriously.

  • michelle pfiffer is a symbol of beauty and femininty. very mature woman.

  • This is and perhaps will be the best catwoman ever.

  • poor stuffed animals

  • Anne is working with amazing directors first Burton and now Nolan, go get'em bitch!

  • Ooh I totally forgot to add, Michelle is HANDS DOWN the sexist Catwoman and always admired her version of the catsuit.

  • @TeenWitchboy I remember when I first noticed that as a kid, I used to wonder if it was done purposely.

  • I remember this part scared the shit out of my when I was a kid. With all the cats bitting her hands and stuff.

    It's a great scene.

  • @TeenWitchboy Yeah I did cool isn't it Tim Burton we love you :D I think this is the best batman movie EVER, he should do the new movies to, I like how dark it is :D

  • I've always found this depiction of Catwoman far more interesting than the one from the comics. Everything about this scene, and the character in general, are amazing.

  • congradulations on making the sexist villan costume ever :)

  • I would love to get paid to trash a house.

  • I am so worried about Anne Hathaway playing Selina Kyle. Last thing we need is another trainwreck performance like Halle Berry's disgracing "Catwoman". Hathaway better give it her all.

  • @kei37WING I agree because I grew up adoring Catwoman but she's playing Selina Kyle NOT some stand alone shitty film like Halle's (who I still never regard as Catwoman).

I'm going to reserve judgement until the film comes out. I actually think Anne could surprise people.

  • @vi3thunny Same here. I was kinda shocked with Heath Ledger (RIP) was casted as the Joker but he still blew me away. Hathaway always plays such pure characters in big films. It'll be interesting to see her morph into the Sex-Kitten of Batman. Hopefully she makes Michelle proud.

  • @kei37WING I think she will do good. I also think of Anne as playing more good girl roles (I liked her in Princess Diaries) but she has a great range and I've been thinking she can do something better than stuff like Bride Wars. Hopefully, they'll make a costume that is as awesome as Michelle's. The current costume in the comics would look really cool.

  • Don't worry Michelle, Anne Hathaway isn't worthy to lick your shoe. You'll always be Selina F-ing Kyle.

  • this is the best catwoman

  • michelle pfeiffer es y sera la mejor gatubela

  • anyone that makes their own superhero costume is good in my book - you think superman sews that cape? get real....Crafters Rule!!!

  • I would love to see Burton Making a new batman. But with a good script and good ideas. Not like new movies he´s being doing ...

  • HeLL HERE

  • I remember this like it was yesterday, I loved watching this when I was a little kid!

  • Best scene ever..

Michelle Pfeife is the ONLY Catwoman i always remember.

  • This is one of my all time favorite movie scenes! Selina's breakdown is epic. Everything Michelle Pfieffer does is dramatic, intense, elegant and beatiful. She could be going through the mail or blowing her nose and it would be intense.

  • This has the fetid stench of Tim Burton all over it.

  • 5 people forgot they're not married. =)

  • Pfeiffer cannot be topped. It's hard to find an actress as brilliant as she is beautiful, and for Catwoman that's an essential. Pfeiffer was PUUUUURFECT!

  • OMG I COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY AGREE< she should have won the oscar for this

  • I always loved the way Burton did Catwoman, she's amazing here and interesting because she's damaged and you can understand her. Plus it kind of represents her transformation when she destroys the things reminding her when she was meak and unassertive. I honestly am worried that Nolan would mess it up, probably making her one-note since he seems to never do use females as anything more than plot devices. Plus Michelle Pfieffer was amazing in this role. It was perfect casting.

  • @Nightman221k Ehh? Whoever said it was official she was going to be a villian in the next one?

  • @Nightman221k Yeah, and I'm also not sure about Anne Hathaway either. She's really more of a Harley Quinn type (if she had to be any batman villain). Yet who knows?

  • @gentlerat I think Nolan knows what he's doing. I just want Selina's past (she lost her parents to suicide and alcoholism) to be represented hopefully better than making her totally different than how she is like the Joker. I think that Batman Returns made her trauma a little too simple but Michelle made it work because she was SO good at it!

Its funny, I still think of Anne as Princess Mia but I could see her being great as Catwoman. Its interesting casting, I was expecting Kate Beckinsale.

  • @Nightman221k The way you described her she sounds extremely generic.

  • @ShadowCrashed81 The past that I described is part of her origin in the comics though....

  • @Nightman221k It was really good for the adaptation, even though they totally got her character wrong compared to the comics.

  • Comment removed

  • is'nt that the teacher from dangerous minds

  • @jezuz4life Yes

  • Michelle will always be the true cat-woman in my eyes. She's just got this .... thing, that no one else has managed. She's an amazing actress, beautiful, and just pulls off this intensely insanity so easily. This has to be not only one of the best movies ever, but one of the best scenes in cinema history.

  • I'm not a big fan of the X-Men movies, but I thought Halle's portrayal of Storm was spot on . . . but a good Catwoman she was not, though I blame the storyline for that movie more than the actress.

However, Michelle Pfieffer is & always will be MY Catwoman, far more than just a cat burglar, full of depth and depravity, messed up and so self powered at the same time & incredibly sexy! The way a lot of folks feel about Ledger's Joker is how I feel about Pfieffer's Catwoman; cannot be outdone.

  • Catwoman (Michelle) is fucking B-A-D-A-S-S!

  • @loadquicker batman returns! My favorite batman movie!!!!!!!! :3

  • Uhm.. which Batman movie is this from?

  • i don't know how i would feel seeing another director try to match this scene or even try to make a better one with the new batman franchise. you can't get any better than this movie, it was genius. there was the perfect of amount of drama and comedy and action and that was mixed with incredible visuals. i feel like theyre going to try and make catwoman some bitch on the rag when the character is so much deeper than that and no other actress could ever do as good a job as Pfeiffer

  • She soooo needs to get laid.

  • i luv how those neon lights started off as "HELLO THERE" and turn into "HELL HERE."

  • @vinegar1991 Holy crap I never noticed that and I mean NEVER that is so cool

  • Halle who?

  • 3:16 sums up the entire scene. One of my fav Tim Burtons.

  • I agree with pretty much everyone who's commented. Michelle did an absolutely FANTASTIC job as this character in general. But this scene is pure majesty!

I absolutely love her!! She should have won SOMETHING for this amazing performance!

  • @ST3WARTcee

I can relate to Catwoman's transformation. I was a victim of never ending bureacracy at the hands of bureacrats. I had a nervous breakdown, pulled out and trashed my phone.

Presto, I am now WELFARE MAN! LMAO!

I fight for the welfare of others. I even made my own super hero costume.

  • @ST3WARTcee I was abused by ruthless bureacrats. Like Selina, my cat was the only one to understand me.

    Now I am Welfare Man.

I fight for the rights of the little man.

  • @pluto4847 Who would be WELFARE MAN's arch nemesis? On one spectrum, there's THE REPONATOR, an evil machine sent back in time by future president Ann Coulter to seize people's homes. On the other spectrum, THE PORCH MONKEY, an intelligent simian that refuses to look for work all day.

See, this way, I can piss off both republicans and democrats at the same time. For I am IGNORANT MAN! Or IGNORAMUS! Take your pick.

  • @primepm

Welfare man's arch nemesis is called the Bureacrat.

His deadly powers consists of jumping through hoops, wrapping people up with miles and miles of red tape, and he is a Repub;lican.

He belongs to the Elite. His quest is to eradictate all the lower class, and make an Empire based solely on wealthy people.

  • Art.

  • what the HELL did sock monkey ever do to HER?

    ;_; sock monkey....you didn't have to die

  • Not the sock monkey!!! She really did a great job with this scene!! I would think she would have needed at least two or three vinyl coats for that costume!

  • this movie is soo dark hmm which makes it more interesting than the new one

  • Love how the fluorescent lighting in her room goes from "Hello There" to "Hell Here" makes the scene soooo much more dramatic. Love Burton.

  • The cats looked like they went, "WTF?" when they saw the destruction of the apartment.

  • You know, whenever I feel like I'm emotionally breaking down, I hear this music in my head. Crazy huh.

  • this scene is amazing but the thing that always anyode me was how could she make a fully costume and mask out off one pvc jacket

  • This scene is one of my faves in this movie, great actress+great character+great music= great scene! XD

  • She's a good actress and hot as Catwoman

  • I lve this movie just beacsue of her!

  • Okayyy... im confused... why did she destroy everything =d

  • @Joshm226 She kinda hated her life anyway but Her boss had just thrown her out a window. That's why she threw the milk at the machine when it mentioned something about a boss. She was resurrected by some alley cats.

  • shes drunk dahahahahaha

  • Michelle Pfeiffer - hard to believe that a woman so beautiful can be such a genius at acting. Make no mistake - this performance WAS the work of a genius. Tragic, comic, absurd, pathetic, adorable, sensual --- she did it all and endeared herself even the most hardened misogynist by the movie's end (no pun intended).

  • @Messylin It would have been a genius performance, if she had been naked.

  • I L-O-V-E LOVE this scene! Especially how she says, "I don't know about you miss kitty, but I feel.....so much yummier..." AWESOME

  • awesome

  • This scene was amazing...she definately deserves something for this scene.

  • I just noticed that the pink lights in her room used to say "Hello There" but after she smashed it, it says "Hell Here."

  • @latteXDD that's what i loved most abt this scene..

  • Don't piss off blonde women,or else you'll get yourself a new villain

  • BRILLIANT! BRILLIANT SCENE! LOVE IT!!!

  • What was that claw thing that she put on her glove?

  • @pwd2login She clipped some wire, then used it to fix a bent needle to a thimble. Did repressed little Selina Kyle ever previously eye her black PVC raincoat and speculate how much cooler a black PVC catsuit would be? A master seamstress...able to manufacture a steel-boned corset, boots and bullwhip, in one night...after such a stressful day at the office! But maybe she already had the boots, corset and whip...but how repressed could she really have been, if she already owned such items? ;)

  • @saranoid LMAO! Your comment seriously made me laugh out loud! I know some things in this movie make no sense at all but I still love Batman Returns and Michelle is the best Catwoman out there!

  • @jaydamien Yes! She nails every single nuance...the way the milk pours down her jaw; her bloodcurdling shriek she directs at the bitch on her answering machine; the sadistic glee in her face as she mashes inoffensive plush toys down the garbage disposal; the offhanded-yet-perfectly-aimed diabolical smashing of her neon lights so they conveniently read "Hell Here"; the subtle lick of the lips as she examines a single metal claw, and the look of real satisfaction as she tries on the first glove.

  • @saranoid no i think her claws were trolley needles. look them up on google. but the rest of what you said is an excellent point.

  • @phoenixrage1 Ah, I see what you mean. Well, I learned something new.....I never heard of trolley needles, before, lol. (But then, what was she clipping that wire, for???)

  • @saranoid hmmm i'm not sure.....but with all that sewing stuff she's bound to have trolley needles in there.

  • There will never be a Catwoman like Michelle !! perfect !!

  • she has her own way of sticking her tongue out, like the joker

  • Honey im home...oh I forgot, im not married.

XD This Catwoman is the best......period!
