what about crossing your hands on hihat? its the same thing, all drummers leads with one hand, so its normal to open hands on one instrument and cross on the other, shure its not the standard crossing on ride, but depends on the high of every instrumment.

I'm a professional drummer lol. I might suggest since you play an "open hand" technique with your left hand on the hi-hat in a Right hand set up that you try reversing how you have your set. I can see potential problems in crossing your left hand over your right for ride patterns. Otherwise good job! :D
