  • this is something i would like to get into.cool video

  • @trialsrider001 same

  • which one are you? red or white?

  • @a1c41

I get it you're the red one. I betcha you're really good by now.

  • That looks really, really fun. Yelling as loud as hell? Swinging swords around? Sign me up! Wish Kendo was near by, closest place is 3 hours away.

  • The guy with White. Your men is falling down!!!

  • why isnt points being givin he do'ed the guy the whole time pretty much. i thought it was good exept he didnt take this time and kept rushing him and

do you have to yell everytime you strike and stump your feet?

  • awesome! ^_^

The silence would be awkward for me.. Less uncomfortable if they played Japanese music. And I would be embarrased from shouting...

Nice work btw! Keep on practicing!

  • man i swear if i ever go to japan im gethign kendo classes

  • @keni184 it's not like they don't have kendo here. lots of colleges have clubs and you could find a dojo somewhere, probably

  • Hahahaha!! Good! Keep practicing!

  • i feel for the guy that got flatopped

  • for just the fourth practice you did extremely well =]

  • haha you got a pretty good hit at 1:25

  • Try working on your seme. Patience is really important in kendo. If you don't hit with the right part of your shinai you won't get any points, try to rush less and take your time. Just look for openings.

  • @RazorHG Read description: This match took place on his 4th time of practice. He isn't going turn into Miyamoto Musashi after 4 sessions.

  • so bad -___-

  • im a bit confused how exactly are points scored?

  • u have to hit with percise persision with the top part of your shinai

the most common places to hit are men (head) and do ( waist)

the person who hits the clearest and most shots at the opponent wins

however it has to be really precise

  • alonsoup i doubt you even practise any form of martial art. I dont practise any form of martial arts but i want to learn kendo, but i dont go dissing any of them i dont intend on learning.

Anyway, he said its his 4th practise only... I hope he'll improve!

  • Your left hand is not centered with your body. You're constantly bending forward, need to always be straight.

  • Ninppo.

  • you´re totally right. sometimes I just say ninjutsu in order to avoid giving explanations about the difference. do you study ninpo? if so, what school?

  • i dont realy think that you ever did a kendo lesson before its looks not nice..

  • You did better than I'll ever do T_T I suck at my kendo. Cuz my voice hurts after I shout xD

  • U need to practice ur Kii, the energy comes from ur abodormen not ur throat... U r using more from ur throat that is why it hurts. But yeh~!!! just remember that everytime u kii. :)

  • Thanks for the advice but that's not the reason. It's just because I have a weak throat. So I had to give up kendo, well now I've got another sport, snowboarding!

  • What Blindblingerz said is true. Something my sensei has taught me is that you should breathe from your stomach and not your upper body/chest. Practice breathing in and out like this and it'll improve your Kii a great deal.

  • Heh kendo is ok I guess but the armor and stance limit the movements and teqniques with the sword Like If I went in there with no armor and jsut a kendo stick I think I could fight circles around them but Of course kendo is ment as a sport or hobby and not ment for real life sword exp and plus nobody uses a sword in real life sitiuations except in kendo or other samurai practices

  • FYI: I intend to start kendo lessons this week. is it fun?

  • really , really FUN!!!

  • Really not TOO bad for only your fourth practice. I mean, don't get me wrong, you were terrible, but that's probably mainly due to the fact that you were thrown into full bogu on only your fourth practice...normally it takes several months of training, becoming acquainted with footwork (which is something I hope you've improved on and practiced) and learning the proper strike.

I think you should just keep practicing, kendo is EXTREMELY fun once you gain proficiency with training in the bogu.

  • Good job for your first match~ If only I had a tape of my first match... I was terrible! My footwork was off in such a way that every time I tried to dodge, I tripped and ended up getting head striked. *sigh*

  • i think you whould have been dead already =) keep the pratice an on going thing

  • Horrible kendo... I hope you had improved right now. Kendo is not wrestling...

  • It's his 4th time to class, what did you expect you stupid bastard.

  • But I don't get why they let him use a bogu on his 4th practice? i mean, I couldn't even wear it until around 1 year (I'm currently on my 3rd month)

  • i practice this sport, i love it but i'm still a low level to participe to a match or a duel =/ nice vid.

  • cool I wanna go Japan it must have been cool for you. sorry but your screaming was kinda funny lol but only cause it was late. I understand you have to shout the proper bocy parts.
