"Measures to enhance the quality of training to improve the skill levels, ability to exercise sound judgment and situational awareness of pilots are being pursued," he adds. "Constant interaction with original equipment manufacturers, both indigenous and foreign, is also maintained to overcome the technical defects of aircraft."
Military accidents are in the spotlight again after an air force Sukhoi Su-30MKI crashed in April - the first loss involving the type since it entered service almost 12 years ago. The pilot survived, but his co-pilot died a few hours after the crash. Sukhoi officials are working with a board of inquiry looking into the accident, and the aircraft's badly damaged black box data recorder was sent to a UK company for analysis.

It is a complex technology, and pity it failed first time.
But don't forget many rockets failed first time or even several initial launch attempts (USA SpaceX Falcon 1, European Ariane 5, Russian Bulava, South Korean KSLV-1 etc.). before the economic liberalization began in 1978, the chinese were so poor and they built their modern industry power in the 80s. And now they can produce their own aircraft and tanks which the technology is concerned by the western power.
The indian attained independence 60 years ago, and a lot of the people are so living in those shitholes. And they still haven't built up a modern industry power, look at LCA. lmao

@glisenti516 one correction: China built up its industrial infrastructure back in the 1950's with the help of soviet union, although you are right to say that it did not really develop well in the first 30 years following the spilit and years of internal unrest.

@Laforeta do you know anything about "Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution"??? The military development was almost stopped during that time, which is between 1966-1976. Before 1960s, the chinese copied and manufacturing russian weapons legally. But after late 1970s, they began to rebuild and renew their industry, and starting to design their own kind of tanks and fighters. So that's why the westerns would say the chinese started to be a key state in the world since early 80s.

Any countries would cancel development of a project and seek other better alternatives to move forward if a project lasts more than 20 years without being put into full production. Otherwise, the project would have succeeded by then. India is just an exception. Indians persist in what they do (fail actually) by injecting captial in stupid projects undertaken by corrupt national defence contractor, while keeping their general population starving!!

You see India operates 3% of NASAs budget and 1/3 of China...so yeah when they get into commercial space market they will make something called profit which gets pumped back into Indian eonomy

They don't even have the ability to copy and to make an original design. HAL tejas and Arjun are two piece of craps. I would consider that an achievement in itself, given the extremely complex cryogenic propulsion technology that was developed in such a short span of time. Good show.
