I like your comments but it also depends on who we are grouped with at 2010. Also, some of our star players will have retired and we haven't really found a good defensive partner for Lucas Neill. Also, Australia's performance from the Asian Cup doesn't suggest that we should be too optimistic. We do need to get our feet back on the ground and take a serious reality check of where we are.

Our Aussie boys are pretty crap at soccer, making qualification is a big ask every 4 years... so this was a really awesome spectacle for the time, it was great that they had a fair crack in the cup as well! but we were never gonna beat italy..

Schwarzer, My favourite player on the australian side, Him, McDonald and cahill, this makes me proud to be aussie, i dont care what the english shites at our school say were a TOP team, very underrated, now were in the AFC we should be getting in the top 20 ranks now and getting into more world cups, you know at the AFC cup that was schwarzers first penalty shoot out loss, but this makes me proud to be aussie, come on australia, lets get to 2010!

the FIFA leader guy Sepp Blatter did say that the ref did make a poor desicion and that the penalty shouldnt have been given. and 2 of the 4 refs that australia had during the world cup were sacked by FIFA after the world cup

LittleWogBoi according to FIFA Grosso should have been sent off. Neil went into the tackle and came out with nothing, correct he didn't get the player, the player dived. Grosso should have been sent off for the dive.

I just cant understand how u can say they were knocked out fairly when they where beaten by a leaping fairy who blatantly dived resulting in a penalty which lost us the match, if thats not cheating i dont know wat is. Obviously you love the game as much as me and have to agree there is no place in the game for diving and something has to be done about it, Grosso should of been banned for the rest of the tounament.

I thought it was a dive for AGES, although then I saw that in theFIFA rules #12 (read it) if a player tackles and doesnt get the player OR the ball (Neil got niether) it's a foul - stupid rule - but the truth

yep, If i was ref I would've given it a yellow in the first seconds. Because Australia would've had time to come back. The penalty was scored with like 6 seconds to go I think.

It's a bit annoying that we had something against us in every game =/ Burt in the Croatian game apparently Harry kewell was offside when he recieved the ball so... But even if he had of been called for offside we would of had been able to appeal for a rematch.

I like your comments but it also depends on who we are grouped with at 2010. Also, some of our star players will have retired and we haven't really found a good defensive partner for Lucas Neill. Also, Australia's performance from the Asian Cup doesn't suggest that we should be too optimistic. We do need to get our feet back on the ground and take a serious reality check of where we are.
