Deer are beautiful animals, not to mention very tasty. I would have been tempted to shoot one of the deer and gut it. I get paranoid when I see deer on the road. I was driving my car, and I hit one a few years ago.
Very cool. I'm so paranoid about hitting a deer on my bike. around dusk I normally ride below the speed limit in rural areas. I just spend a week on Isle Royale backpacking and we saw a Moose! What a big animal!
@the51navy1 No I shouldn't have! Im not starving, im not broke or destitute, i dont eat deer meat and its not shtf time. So what do you propose I do after I'd killed them?
As a motorcycle rider I have a true dislike for deer...Have had too many close calls because of them. I fear them more on the road than ignorant car drivers. I live in rural NY, and we have too many deer for comfort.
@vulcangunner58 I fear both just about the same, but I truly understand your point because I had a really close call with them on my bike too. But the truth is they are still very beautiful creatures and it's not their fault we ride on 2 wheels and put paved roads right through their natural habitats. LOL. For this reason and a few others I try not to ride my bike too fast or without being overly conscious of everything around me. Ride safe my friend and stay alert.
Earlier this Spring we had a little flock of Turkeys decide to walk right across our rifle range at the gun club at about the 100 yard mark...and all we could do was stand there looking until they were gone. They knew that Spring Goobler season hadn't started yet!
It's neat to see you get so excited about your sighting. My mom lives in a touristy little town nestled in the foothills. The deer are so thick they are a nuisance. They lay around in her backyard and eat her flowers. The other day, a tourist flagged me down as though there was a crash. He tip-toed up to my window and whispered, "There is a deer just up the road, be careful." As he turned to go to his car, a big doe stuck her head into his car and stole his sandwich! SUPER HILARIOUS!!!
@HawkLMT Thats too funny, I live in the middle of a city/country area...meaning not too city oriented & not too backwoods country either & I get to see them sometimes at night feeding on the side of the road but nothing this close and I was astonished at how non scary they were. I love the fact that we can still see things like this and do the things we love to do. I often think of what a SHTF situation would really bring and I cringe in fear. LOL, Hey, thanks for stopping by YOU ROCK as always!
On my way to work a few months ago we counted over 700 deer on the roadside. After you get a few in the grill of your truck one might not like them very much. No contact here for over 30yrs but I know folks that think they're a magnet for these so called fine animals. Tasty though...
@HYDE43210 LOL, no venison today. These beautiful deer ran off into the middle of nowhere to live happy recipe free lives. I know they were wondering where our guns were and why we weren't shooting at them. LMBO. Truth be told we shot them in a different way this time, and these darlings made the movies
Getting out in Nature is always Awesome...however Wildlife losing there fear of humans is either the 5th or 6th sign of the end of days....kidding I was raised in Brooklyn what do I know about Nature. Welcome Back
@krazy45cat I have 2 halfway decent cameras but I leave them at home because Im so clumsy. LOL. But I've come across some real kodak moments lately and wished I had one of them with me. So I think this will force me to carry one or both from now on. SMH

Deer can tell when they're being stalked with a camera or a gun :)
I saw a mama turkey today and a bunch of turkeylings, but I couldn't get to my camera fast enough.
