@SuperchargedSean It's too early to tell but I'm sure it will drive better since it's such a tiny car. It has the same height and length dimensions as the AE86. The Toyo-baru will win at the track but for a DD the GenCoupe wins hands down.

@SuperchargedSean For 2013 the power is up to 275 in the 4, and 350 in the 6, plus a new 8 speed trans. The 86 still is probably more toss able as it's lighter and has a near ideal weight distribution, plus a nice suspension setup, but it's relatively low on power and has a fairly crude transmission.

@IzzyLL This isn't true. Stock the genesis coupe with the 3.6L V6 and manual transmission will post better lap times than a stock G37. Yes the infiniti is the nicer car and more luxurious but it does not handle as well as the genesis.

@supra518 No your wrong. The video from motortrend shows an automatic V6 Stang with a 2.73 gear ratio, and the Hyundai had a 3.31 Gear ratio WITH paddle shifters.

The V6 Stang with the performance pack destroys the Hyundai Genesis.

Camaro v6 is slower than the genesis coupe v6. If any one does not believe this check the videos on here. Oh and if you buy a genesis coupe v6 get the zf auto tranny not the stick if 0-60 matters to you. Its a few tenths quicker.

Watch the Smoking Tire review of the Genesis Coupe. Matt Farrah hit the nail on the head. I really wanted to love this car, then I test drove the 2.0T and was very disappointed. It was too heavy and too slow! For some reason the revs hang going from first to second gear and it doesn't engine brake for some reason....almost like it goes into neutral when you let off.

The genisis coupe is a good start but still needs more refinement before they are in contention to get my $

I'm not sure why people don't like Hyundai. We take a car like the Elantra, for instance, which has been rated the best small sized sedan for the last three years by Consumer Reports. Then you get the Genesis, an affordable sports car with plenty of features and power to admire. There's nothing wrong with Hyundai. They had a bad past, sure, but they sure have outdone themselves today.

I do agree this coupe genesis is bad ass.. but most other kia and huyndai car -- their price is only 2-4k less than the other (or in some case the same) and most conservative would rather stick to something they already works..etc

@johnyeros we have had hyundais in the household for 25years. a Pony 85(or excel), Stellar 89, accent 98 and another accent 2000. Never broken down. and any issues which have been very few, none have ever stopped the car. infact the accent hasnt had anything wrong with it in 10years. except a slightly iffy rad cap last year that they replaced for free.

they tend to be pretty reliable all in all. we are in UK.

But with the 2.0T version your power band will only be 4-6 RPM. Unless your planning on switching out to a Aftermarket turbo then thats a different story. If I did get this car I'd just get the V6 version because I'm just going to keep my car stock anyway. Might add simple Intake or something down the road though.

The reviwer is right, 2.0T would be the ideal car for the track or at least as a pure tuner car considering the lower weight and with simpe bolt-ons a forced induction engine will generate more power for less money. A sports car isn't just about 0-60 times, but overall best performance for your money.

Wow this reviewer has no idea what he is talking about. GC V6 0-60 5.7, Camaro 0-60 6.1. Get the V6 over the turbo any day of the week. The 2.0L turbo does 0-60 in 6.9.

I was going to get the Genesis, but the "head-turning-factor" of the Camaro won me over. My old Hyundai was a great car. Drove it for 170k miles, gave it to my sister and she is still driving it. Oh and I don't think I'm considered a kid at 35.

I test drove the V6 genesis coupe and it was so much fun to drive, so much torque on it too. personally i like the genesis coupe better than the camaro, i was disappointed on the camaro v6 interior, looked very plain and did not include a nav like the gen coupe track packaged did. the gencoupe also already has a nice growing aftermarket for tuners. for the money the track model v6 is the best buy.
