although MJ will never be forgotten forever, you're probably right about the record. let say after your death due to aging. 40 or more years is not a little time ;-)
kobe is in no shape or form close to jordan because he scored 81 points against a terrible toronto team. michael jordan scored 63 on the celtics the best team at that point in the playoffs after coming off an injury while he dominated the NBA in every shape and form for years in the best defensive era of the league you don't know anything about basketball to even call kobe's name in the same breath as michael jordan
Michael is the best ever. In this day and age, I just don;t see anyone achieving what he achieved. The NBA is far more competitive and the talent level coming up is getting better year on year.
Kobe Bryant has 4 championships and I can see him getting 2 more but there's no way Kobe can achieve what Jordan did which is not his fault. The L is just too competitive and dynamic now. Kobe is the best player in the NBA now and will probably go down in history as second to MJ when he's done.
i'm a big kobe fan myself but yeah he'll ALWAYS be second to MJ - the things that MJ did to the league (on the court dominating to off the court marketing) is truly immeasurable. Plus his stats are just so phenomenal...perfect player at both ends of the court
To this day, Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA-player ever. I have no idea what the future has in store for the league, but I doubt that he will seize to be number one during my lifetime.

MJ invented and introduced #23 to the world and made it famous. if it wasn't for MJ, #23 would be nothing.
