I have one of these and yes it is a very cool sounding distortion, very smooth. Easy to get the For the love of god-tones out of it. But really a shame that the two effects can't be used at the same time. When you want a heavy distortion as your rhythm tone (the red channel), you'll always need another pedal (overdrive or booster) for soloing.

looks like a mad pedal, i'm looking for a distortion pedal so i can use some of my other pedals distorted, you have to have them in some specific order or something. Might go for tubecreamer or the boss one the frusciante uses.

whats makes this pedal even more badass is that they are individually swirled! I just got my jemini pedal and noticed the swirl pattern looked a bit different. then i compared it to other jemini swirl patterns and they are all different!!! now only if ibanez reissued the uv777 and jems with the swirl finishes

I have an Epiphone Cherry Red Standard SG with a crate amp, and I really like this pedal but so far I have only seen them be used with Ibanez Jems and other Ibanez

What gear are you using? I can only speak for the guitars I have - my Ibanez RGs uses pickups which range from DiMarzio stock ones, to Evolutions, Tone Zones, PAF Pros, Air Nortons... and so far they sound all pretty good.

In one guitar I have seymour duncans hot rodded set. and in another guitar I got a dimarzio yjm (neck) and hs3 (bridge). Would this pedal sound ok with those?

My Washburn N2 has Seymores (Bill Lawrence I think), and they sound great with the pedal. I havent heard the YJMs yet, but so far DiMarzios havent let me down.

Yeah, its a great, solid distortion pedal. If I don't feel like lugging my heavy rack-mounted effects, I'll just grab the Jemini (and some other pedals), and Im good to go!

Play mostly jazz, fusion, country and some hard rock, but it will be cool to have that Vai-Petruccie-Satriani esque prog-rock tone too, without shelling out a ton of cash.

I have an ibanez RG220 with the Vai Evo pickups in it. How close do you think i could get to the sound? I'd love to try my own "naked track" thing. Awesome video though dude, its such an awesome pedal.

Oh Yeah! I wasn't satisfied with the pedals available that had the overall tone i liked, so I was very pleased when I got this. Now I don't have to lug around my bulky rack-effects cabinet too much.

Keep in mind that in order to get the tone you hear on Vai's demo, you pretty much have to have the rest of his gear, but you can get pretty close without it.
