@hybelkan1nen Mach3 outputs position information, you send this position information to steppers OR servos. With steppers - you need a stepper driver. With servos - you need a servo driver. I made my own (4) servo driver.
I would like to learn this feature for some vinyl cutting. The sign shop here has rates that are pretty high. Nice video. I won't be using servos though, my controller is for steppers.
This is great! I am actually looking for how to setup a tangential knife to cut a rubber gasket... can you post details how you did tihs? is the 4th axis a servo?
GREAT GOOD JOB

do you write your own software?

@tomliordos I write my own firmware for the servo controller, but the screen you see is ArtSoft Mach3.

Do you have the plans on building the controller on your blog?

@GoToTabCollection Unfortunately, it's still a work in progress, and not ready for any sort of release.

Yes, all 4 axes are servos. If you're using Mach3 there is an option to enable an Axis as tangential.

i already have 3 axis, on stepper. is it required to use servo for the 4th axis?
h2oreactor 3 years ago
No. Under Mach3 it doesn't matter what style of motor you have (Servo or Stepper).

Thanks!.. will try this later.
Hope to see your 4th axis in action soon!

could i use this for 6 servo's?????
zweefvliegerNL 3 years ago
You can use Mach3 for 6 axis, but my servo controller (currently in development) can only do 4. You would need a two controllers (giving 8 servos).
