I think he did. The mouse didn't move because the Graffiti application has a playback feature which he must have used to make the video. So he drew the picture, started his screen recorder and then dragged the playback dial back to the beginning of the scrub bar, which would then start playing forward automatically. It's the same way I record my Graffiti made images.
