  • Man, nice tuned but it seems slow, i have my EM1 change my engine with 2000 spec B20B all stock and its more responsive than what you have, i can only rev till 6500 and its cut off, your speed meter seems slow.

  • my 11 year old LS/vtec made 174whp untuned last month. cant afford a tune so did a base run only since the car never got a tuned before. just wanted to know the power it was making. no bad though. you need a better transmission thats for sure.

  • @Slider617 Ls Tranny are great for daily driver. But you are losing power thru out the gear ratios.

  • I also have a 2.5 exhaust with no cat and a header on a jdm B18c gsr motor and honestly i think i lost power in low to mid range but gained a little up top. honda engine might benefit more from 2.25 or 2inch exhausts, but im really not sure. Love the teg

  • nice dude, how was the ls/vtec swap? i hear its just moving some dowels, plugging a hole and routing oil to the vtec solenoid, and running 3/4 wires to the ecu. Is it really that easy? if so, i think im gonna go that route.

  • looks like you got your self a nitrous or supercharged motor. You rebuilt but didn't really change any thing it's stronger with aftermarket rods etc.So the power is right for what you have.If you was going for all motor you should have raise the compression to 11:5 or 12:1 with high lift cams and ported head. But good luck with car nice motor.

  • @Swift16 what ecu are you running? and you should have the catalytic converter bypassed. my buddy has a built ls-vtec, except for pistons, it has a pr3 ecu and a cat delete and it smokes turbo ls-vtecs

  • @Swift16 dude they taught us in automotive skool that some times when they give people numbers they will give them the number that is the best like for instance you will run better on a day where its 70 degrees with low humidity yada yada comepared to a 105 degree day where there high humidity

    so they could have fucked up the reading too lol

  • and for turbo cars u wanna go with a 3 inch exhaust,but hmm ya kinda looks like u also rebuilt the engine but u also need a better manifold and that flywheel is too light unless ur gonna track race ur car u wanna go with a 12Lb flywheel instead but ya i would go with some good skunk2 cams and if u go all motor get either a b16 tranny or type R would nice..message me if u have any questions

  • actually i do have a question man,, i got an ls but i cant decide if i should make it ls vtec or ls turbo but only with 7 to 8 psi cuz ama run it on a stock block?? wat do you think it would be better but reliable? thanks..

  • LS Vtec would be better and if u had to pick what head to get i would get,either GSR or Type R..Type R would be my choice cuz the cams are bigger and u can take it up to its full 9000rpm redline with a tune of course and the head flows quite good and that LS tranny u have is great for turbo.

  • @JDMFA54DR better as reliable or as faster ?? wouldnt turbo be faster but less reliable,? im really not quite sure wat do decide, cuz i want it fast but i want it to last lol

  • anything can be reliable it all depends on how u build it,since ur doing an LS Vtec or LS Turbo,that motor and the b20 motor arent vtec motors so they dont have oil squirters which spits oil onto the pistons which cools them down so ya u wont have that..with a 7-8LB pounds of boost if good but when u tune the car that what makes it safe and reliable..and ya it should be fast. U could even do a stock gsr on like 10lbs pounds of boost and make 300whp so ya.

  • what makes ur motor vtec is the header and etc..the ls block doesnt have oil squiters so ya it depends on u. and oh ya LS rods are weak and wont last forever so if u plan on stay with that block i woul get some eagle rods or something,anything stronger than stock and oh ya dont forget to cHANGE UR

  • Change ur oil pump to a type r oil pump,its better,i would recommened it for whatever ur doing all motor or turbo..so ya..

  • ya if ur were gonna go boost then u should have gone with a lower compression than 10:5 but to me it seems like u wanna go All motor but ya again best daily driver all motor would be around 11:5,but seems with what u done to ur car doesnt seem to be fast at all. Yes cams would help big time but as of right now ur running probably crappy boltons,all i saw good was the exhaust but even then what diameter piping are u running,2 and a half for all motor

  • Im sorry to tell you this but honestly my LS B18B1 pulls exactly same as your car. All i have is CAI and headers and full exhaust system. Idk what wrong with your car. I kinda felt like the Vtec does not kick in.

  • sorry to tell you man, but i had a b18b for the longest time and it does not pull the same as my ls-vtec. the only thing thats similiar is the gear ratio because im still running an ls tranny.

  • Well obviously it is going to be faster but the thing is i felt like in this video its pulling the same as my non vtec. And the Ls tranny is good if you are going for boost! So you are running B18b1 lock and GSR head? And whats the brand or the name of the Rims i love em! :D

  • thx man and yea thats the only reason im keeping the ls tranny is because i want to boost. And the rim brand is called Kazerra, i'm not sure the exact name but they don't make them anymore. and by the way it's a b16 head

  • cool rims though! Im currently building a B20 Vtec i have to resleeve the block. You cant believe but im going from auto Ls integra into Manual b20 Vtec(GSR head). Some say im crazy but for my teg id do anything! :D

  • the transmission will make a huge difference in acceleration. esp the LS vs b16a transmission. my LSV had a YS1 (cable) at first and i was pissed off because it seemed that i lost alot of lowend. but as soon as i installed a J1 b16a tranny it all came back with a vengence :).

  • rev your ls past 8 grand and you will see why a vtec head is needed

  • its a greddy evo 2 cat back, random tech highflow cat, dc 4-2-1 headers. Cant wait to put in my new crower stage 1 cams :). And no i dnt know the color code but the paint is called shadow grey metallic and the color was originally used on rims.

  • i wasnt criticizing you. you didnt state whether you're going n/a or boost. thats why i asked. and yes, i know you can run itr cams on boosted cars.

  • are you going all motor or turbo? should of got higher compression pistons if N/A. also, if you gonna upgrade cams you need higher compression..

  • sry guy i dnt where your getting your facts from. You don't have to up compression to upgrade cams! Now if you mean go for a high lift duration profile like a straight all motor profile yes i would agree with u. Although i didnt state how high or what stage i was getting, so to clarify im getting stage 1 specs which are slightly higher than type r cams. And to also state i do plan to boost, but logically speaking that won't take place for another year or to.

  • yea i still have the ls tranny on. Im going to see if i can opp out for gsr or type r 1-4 and keep my fifth because i eventually plan to boost.

  • I would just look for an si transmission and hold on to the ls one if you plan to boost later.

    GSR = 1.8.5 Litre

    Type-R 1.8.9 Litre

    so LSvtec = can take type-r lol
