i havnt heard music from arena but im iffy wether this is better than oblivion morrowind yeah because there were so many songs i heard again and again -.-
I have a video game deformation. Every time it snows IRL, I hear this song immediately. It's so... there are no words. I wish I could type the feeling.
@AvengerXP LOL i've been feeling exactly the same way for the past 15-16 winters! and it snows a lot here. i'm always surprised that the trees don't pixelate when i ski closer towards them. i always whistle a Daggerfall tune when i wade through a snowfield, the crunchy sound effects are provided by nature, fortunately.
I enjoy how the highest rated comments always dislike Morrowind and Oblivion. Personally, I think Morrowind's music was great, but Oblivion had one good song. And Arena's wasn't really good. But Daggerfall was also well done.
Reminds me of scampering around the cramped city alleyways of TES: Arena, with fog so thick I could barely see 5 feet in front of me. Being bombarded by snow, dodging townspeople left and right, trying to get to my destination.
I really liked the clean, cozy look of Arena's stone cities when it was snowing.
Eric Heberling is a genius. Looks like he ended up making music for slot machines according to his website... Doesn't look like it exists anymore either. =(
I like Over Snow and Blizzard except I didn't really like the game because the dungeons are EXTREMELY confusing, and about 2/3 of the game sends you to dungeons.
lol you obviously never played the game, even people who love and are very experienced with daggerfall (which requires not being an idiot) are very confused by dungeons. They are SUPPOSED to be confusing you utter moron, its just that some people like that challenge, others would rather play without it.
Some of them are impossible to complete though, the flipside of random generating that stuff. I remeber a couple of dungeons where you teleport into isolated areas of the area while the only teleporter that should lead back, kills you.
@CBoyardee Thats opinion really, although overall I do like more tracks in daggerfall than morrowind or oblivion, some of them are really good (morrowinds menu theme is absolutely THE BEST piece of music in elder scrolls ever IMO)
@CBoyardee The Elder Scrolls has always had good music. They had it fit the mood and atmosphere. I don't think one soundtrack is better than the others.
@addictofanime In morrowind there were like two tracks, one normal and one for battle. How this can be better than than the number of great tracks in daggerfall? I think that the soundtracks from oblivion/morrowind are no match for arena/daggerafll tunes.
This song is a remake from Arena and is supposed to be brighter and not too Depressing. There are two versions of the song in Daggerfall. This, and another called Blizzard. This one however is very similar to the one in Arena and is still creepy.
I just love the sort of eerie mystique that Eric Heberling was able to pull off with Daggerfall's OST.

The geography for daggerfall is remarkably similar to ancient greece and asia minor.

Daggerfall music was so atmospheric. Thx 4 upload

This song is very creepy, adds even more to the atmosphere of the game...
on a side note, for some reason i was directed here by a video of Lost.
jackoneill45 2 years ago 3
did they inend this to be creepy? cause for some reasons it seriously creeps me out, but man, what a soundtrack, what great memories, what a game.

The music in Arena and Daggerfall is much better than the music in Oblivion and Morrowind..
CBoyardee 3 years ago 13
agreed
thepezdispenser 2 years ago 3
I must disagree when it comes to Morrowind. I would say that it is in the same level. The theme song (Call of Magic) is simply genius.
dunmermage 2 years ago
In morrowind you have basicly two songs. Standards theme, and battle theme...how is it better?

no i don't think so ... this is great but it can't match an entire orcestra ...

Agreed, it would be awesome if they at some point used some of the music from Arena and Daggerfall in new orchestral versions

@CBoyardee I don't liek Oblivion's music very much but Morrowind's is a masterpiece IMO.
It's just a different style. Dagger's got this old-school stylish music that you can't find in any recent game.
And there were far more than 2 tracks in Morrowind btw. Men if you can't remember the game then don't say its music is bad.
