  • Jka is Awesome!!! :D

  • @MultiZON123 The martial arts KARATE Shotokan SKIF so either, ITKF, SHOBUKAN, etc etc etc are amazing and beautiful, all come from the JKA.

  • The JKA is not the governing body of karate in the world, they practice a sport, not a martial art, not karate. For those who are unaware of Japanese history, JKA history or Okinawan history, karate-do implies there is no external enemy and effectiveness of technique is not of concern. Karate jutsu is the Okinawan martial art. Read and study and you will find what I have said to be the truth.

  • Many thanks for Techniques of Shotokan Style and for techniques of JKA. Mr. Myint Kywe who is Soshiki karate chief instructor said: "This all techniques essential useful for Karate man. I really respect to Master Masatoshi Nakayama who was chief instructor of JKA. He is my great master".

  • im feeling kinda awkward here, seing nakayama rub himself sensually all over the place lol

  • I think Bruce Lee said it best ( I paraphrase ), 'No one style has all the answers. Use what works.' In a street fight, combat, etc... there are infinite scenarios and no one style can prepare for that. The practitioner of martial arts must be adaptable, having no limitation of mind with technique. Survive.

  • May your soul rest in peace master Nakayama..

I will always be a loyal student of master funakushi and your teachings as part of my bushi culture.. OSS

  • WARNING from a JKA life member: Years with the JKA (Japan and America) revealed contradictions that caused me to study original karate (beginning, what it is, why developed, how taught, general syllabus). The JKA practices a sport and it has eliminated much of original karate. As such it is not a martial art and is not karate at all. For the discerning and the objective; if you really want to learn of karate, Okinawa is the source. Find a teacher of PROVABLE lineage, it is fascinating.

  • @IEKUKATAKA Karate as any martial art is something one can spend their entire lives practicing and never truly master because it is ultimately the colective skill of a long line of dedicated practitioners each of which spent their lives to improve this art and all (the these masters who passed on their teachings) would have contributed to Karate as a whole. Karate when it was mainly only in okinawa was Toke jutsu or something, it didnt have the "do" that the completed Judo and Aikido systems had

  • @IEKUKATAKAaround when the japanese military took hold of their country (cant put a date on it) the japanese learnt okinawan karate and sought to complete the system to that which compares to the completed systems of Judo/ kendo/ aikido to gain Toke Jutsu its "do". these men often trained alongside the okinawan masters, their Karate was no less potent. I believe you need profound knowledge in both these lines after all do you have all the knowledge Karate has to offer yet?

  • @smokinthepot Nobody knows all of a martial art and nobody ever has. I am not sure what your point is, but, I have been involved for 46 years if that answers some of your question.

  • Comment removed

  • @IEKUKATAKA A respectful duration, and yes I agree you can never know it all but you shouldnt also disregaurd one style over another even if if is considered watered down, itll have its place and time.

  • @smokinthepot You should disregard ANYTHING that is not comprehensive, puts you at risk to use, can not be used under duress or in actual combat or is generally ill prepared in terms of fighting science. The JKA syllabus fails that scenario miserably. You believe what you like and you train as you like, the truth lurks in a dark alley and I want to be as prepared as possible, the JKA fails that test also.

  • @IEKUKATAKA I learn and like and prefere my Wing Chun training doesent mean im gonna disregaurd my Karate training because I didnt learn as many "lethal or practical" techniques it all ultimately helps me and its all usefull.

  • @smokinthepot Karate was and is a martial art. If it is seriously approached as such then combat tactics will be learned. Wing Chun was the same originally. Millions stray away from that to approach them differently. My concern for them is as follows; if you practice Wing Chun as an exercise activity, don't expect to be able to extract combative responses when the time comes. As for "it is all useful", believe what you like, it is your life when things get ugly.

  • lol fisting

  • Having trouble posting certain things.Whats up with that.

  • I guess acerwks ex-girlfriend left him for a guy who trains shotokan karate and now he has an inferiority complex

  • This is good stuff man. I like the detail in the way that different types of strikes are used against particular parts of the adversarie's body. Deadly stuff!!

  • lol acerwk if you dont like shotokan why do you watch the video's and even commment on them? Guess you have nothing else to do :)

  • oss.great video.train hard

  • great master oss

    nakadaka ipon ken

  • acerwk shut the fuck up.also if you are greek, stop shaming our country with your comments.probably you have been beaten by a karateka, that's why you talk like this.OSS!!!

  • @focusianos shotokan is shit period

  • I don't understand, what are you trying to say ? and why you speak like this?

  • OSS

  • BEAUTIFUL video ! Thank you

  • look up lyoto machida he is the ufc light-heavy weight champion. get all your facts straight then explain to me how shotokan is shit.

  • i know hes teaching us im im at shotokan karate do to

  • ich kann gar keine stile

  • Nakayama sensai is great master karate done a good job of teaching

  • What a crap!Shit!

  • well go wipe your ass then dipshit

  • This shit is so funny hahahaha

  • Please excuse acerwk he got beat up by a shotokan karate purple belt, hes very sad about it....poor little kid, acerwk go cry somewhere else ;D ahahah

  • if its 4 gay people what are you doing watching this then

    maybe you are gay hm?

    smooothman came and won

he he u no match 4 smooothman.

  • Hey dumb f#ck. Go and train then re post when you know what you are talking about

  • are you stupid, faggot? forgot Lyoto Machida won UFC?

He fights Shotokan you dumb fuck.

  • in denial much?

  • So techniques in boxing suck as well do they?

  • Gay techniques?

I wouldnt know I should imagine experience of being gay would bring that information.

  • How would you know ?

You some kind of expert or something?

Nope you arent because you dont even train do you?

What do you train apart from google ing?

  • Listen numb, give me one good reason why the techniques found in karate should be given to some idiot like you?

    These dumb ass are basics.

Now if you ever trained boxing, which I doubt, you would use the bag and the pads.

Those are two of the methods of training boxing basics.

Repost when you have trained something other than your right hand

  • So you are the world expert now on self defence are you?

    F#ck off dip shit

  • It is okay to believe what you believe. But would you mind not displaying that to others? I would be very appreciative if you refrain from posting what I view as disrespectful comments, even if what you posted may be true.

  • @wannabeebee

martial arts are about more than punching bags, dude. it's about self defense, as in physical, mental and spiritual.

He who overcomes others is strong...he who overcomes himself is mighty Chinese proverb. and makuwara is a piece of wood with a pad on it, it's really hard, harder than bags, and it bruises you and cuts you.

  • what a shit? English is obviously not your first language, also just about all your comments on all shotokan vids contain the words "shit" or "faggot" or both, strange.

  • @acerwk What are "gay" Shotokan techniques. Its all good stuff to me. There is nothing in Shotokan for the lame or "gay". Everything in Shotokan is done with speed, power, and precision.

  • @qualifiedtowotk shotokan sucks.doesnt train you against roundhouse punches low kicks or takedowns.take a look plz defenses against oi tsuki..waste of time

  • @acerwk Really?! Thats funny. In the dojo that I learned Shotokan in, I learned how to defend myself against all types of things. I learned, breakfalling, grappling, defense against all types of weapons, defense against a rear attack you name it I learned it. My black belt test was hell. I'm surprised I lived through it. You make black that school, you're a black belt for sure. No handouts! And guess what? Everything I learned in class was critical for my survival of the test.

  • @qualifiedtowotk I m very happy for you mate.you learn a lot of good practical thinks but guess what.that aint shotokan!search the official material of all shotokan federations (skif jak kase ha jks) and you see what i mean.propably your sensei add all of that because he know that shotokan is shit and cant stand in a real fight

  • @acerwk Testing

  • @acerwk Wow, I learned all of those skills sets as well from an 8th Dan strait from the Japan Karate Association following the Shotokan official syllabus. Step by step. I am thinking maybe whatever issue you have with Shotokan is personal. What do you study? Official training syllabus online are only basic's that are building blocks for actual technique. The real stuff comes once you have built the foundation for it. Just like in Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, Marine Corps Martial Art's Program, etc..

  • @recon501 See comments my channel page. I am a former Marine, studied with the JKA in Japan. If you have questions i will answer as best I can.

  • @acerwk I'm not sure what exactly constitutes "pure" shotokan, but every school that I've trained with that called itself "shotokan" included stuff that was not typically shotokan-like, e.g. not in the kata or sparring drills. Even my current SKIF school includes much training outside of the official curriculum. The tests go far beyond the SKIF requirements. Much like @qualifiedtowotk mentioned about his school.

  • @qualifiedtowotk Then you studied in a very unique school and I feel sure it was not a JKA teacher. See comments my channel.

  • Asshole.......u r n ashole......I m a SHOTOKAN KARATEKA.....whatever warart u learn.....if u dnt use ur brain to block it or counter strike u will never find victory..

Karate has everything that a kumite needs.hahahahahaha.

  • @MrGreen094 Shotokan is shit and tou are a faggot!go train in oi-tsuki now ..hahahaha...what a looser

  • Comment removed

  • you are a wada facking shit

  • oss !

  • OSS!! =)

  • Shotokan is the Best...you guys are only talking shit.i wish u could see what my Sensei i do,any shotokan student got beated in the street don't blame the art blame the person for now doing it right.and by the way no one is un beatable.

    Shotokan is Real!

  • *sigh* All this bad mouthing and disrespecting Shotokan. "Styles are just tools, a great man can do great things with a weak tool". Remember that next time you underestimate your opponent, which - by the way - is something a real martial artist would NEVER do

  • LYOTO MACHIDA!!!

  • Oyama... Fucking bollocks. It´s not which style or system... it´s who does it !!!!

  • Shotokan is for health and sport first and martial art second, granted. But that doesnt mean it sucks, if you just train for the combat application a lil more than the average student, it will show you its true martial strength, its just that most shotokan karateka arent ONLY interested in fighting and practice the art for a higher reason.

  • Sounds like you need to grow up fella! you clearly don't know what you are talking about.....sorry!

  • i thought u have some brain..but i was wrong....shotokan is a way of life....and leave sensei Funakoshi away....u are a piece of crap comparing with him....asshole In my opinion shotokan is the best martial art ...respect !

  • Sounds to me that some falls victim to the technique goes out the window in a real situation syndrome. If you stay true to your training, your training will stay true to you. We train with/against people who are also training. If you can defend against someone who knows what they are doing, then its that much easier to defend against someone who does not know what they are doing.

  • ....Dude, are you like.... some sort of robotic fuckhead that posts that all kickass videos suck? I see you everywhere!

  • kickass videos??r u joking right?this is pathetic!!Sucks!

  • And according to you, what doesnt suck? How can karate... or any hardcore martial art suck? Man, I dont get people like you, illogicalities.... Back up your statements with evidence, rather than just pure badmouthing.

  • No karate my friend.Shotokan sucks.this is the difference

  • Ok.... so what doesnt suck? What do you train in?

  • all the other systems are ok

  • ......Gay. Thats retarded. Shotokan karate-do is an awesome martial art.

  • +1 Shotokan is the best!

  • I bet you this kid doesn't even know that shotokan was the first sport karate, and by that revolutionaze it by making it more dynamic art with sport scientific aproach.I know that a lot of the problem with karate today is because a lot of instructors don't have an education in physical fitnes and less a college degree in sport science or athletic development, there're a lot of good teachers, but they lack know-how

  • Obviously this is one of those guys that spend the time bad mouthing other peoples videos. Now also is hard for people who don't understand karate or any martial art for that matter in depth to make such comments and missed the info.I see it every day with mid-level or begginer kids from other clubs or styles that just think is just a kick or punch but fail to see the pressure points of strikes and how much kime plays a vital role in the execution of techniques

  • Damn straight man.

  • there was this kid at my coache's club the other day that just thought it wasn't important to truly learn all the details of a correct mawashi-geri and the two types that there are.Eventually one of the advance students show him that it makes a big difference how much turning the hips & tightening your butt makes for a harder impact kick. Also it is important to note that the aim in karate is to finish with one blow a' la Kyokushin way.sport karate just gives me more dynamics & flesibility

  • What's wrong with the sound ??

  • Excelente muestra de las armas y la técnica para usarlas. Muchas gracias por esta oportunidad para la persona que compartio este video.

  • nakayama where is your dojo?

  • This is sansay of my sansfy

  • this man is awesum im reading one of his books

  • If you can get the one on practical karate.Althought I recommended for only the advance student of karate for it looks over simplistic yet if you're familiar with technical operative karate which was employ by the Russian KGB and the Cuban D.T.I. of the MININT and the MINFAR you will see the many possibilities of the techniques been shown.

  • M. Nakayama, a legend of JKA... this is THE BEST video i´ve ever seen about him, people like this motivate strongly to other people to practice this marvelous martial art.

  • Remarkable, the way of the open hand, and how many ways there really are.

  • Mas Oyama was the warrior of his period.

He didn't like Funakoshi's way of having everything too polite.

  • neither did Choki Motobu. I heard somewhere (more than once actually) that Choki actually fought and defeated Funakoshi once...very quickly with a wrist throw.

  • Probably since Choki Motobu was way old when Funakoshi was born. So I figure Gichin might have been 9 yrs.when this happen...LOL.

  • probably not since Funakoshi was actually older than Motobu. Funakoshi was born in 1868. Motobu was born in 1870 or 71.

    look it up.

  • Nakayama is the best!

Check it out how he teach each movemnet with speed, power and twisting his wrist!

  • Oyama learnt from this guy.Read your history...come on man Oyama was twice the size of Nakayama or the average japanese for that matter...You know what Godzilla owns Oyama how about that!

  • Sorry I cant remember what I wrote.

    Respect to all styles!

  • oh that Oyama could totally owne Nakayama.Well I seen nakayama and he was prety fast compare to Oyama which was strong yet a little slow...so who knows but on weight classification they were off again Nakayama for a time was instructing special units in practical karate also known in Cuba and Russia as technical-operative karate which few people know about,I guess because it can't be used in sport competition

  • But sport is still more fun =P

Also you will be more famous for being good at sports fighting than being good on practical self defense.

  • Shtokan stile is the best

el estilo shotoka es muy buenO

    respetos a los demas estilos

gichin funakoshi and masatoshi nakayama areee THE BEST EVER!!!!!

HAIL NAKAYAMA AND HIS SENSEI FUNAKOSHI

  • hermoso muy hermoso bello arte

  • Great video clearly shows the full range of shotokan strikes. Excellent video. Our sensai has done a great job of teaching us karate as it has been taught by these top class instructors.

  • This is the most important news from Shotokan JKA I ever see.

  • that vid is just great!!!

    but

the soundtrack put's me to sleep!!!

  • I think you are gay. Karate is very powerful martial art.

  • You are right.

  • Hahaha tae kwon do is shit, try one of those fancy high kicks in a real fight and bite the pavement.

  • No style is better than other. There are only good fighters and less good fighters.

  • Taekwondo is a complete sport you can not use that as comparison...Althought I'll admit that they have very fast kicks and also you are probably making that statement from seen american TKD association practitioners which don't know what they're doing.Try Olympic or WTF TKD and you'll see the difference.

  • you are so stupid, ya know?

  • maybe you are gay, every martial arts, used correctly, can be very strong, so stfu dumbass before i kick you're head with a mawashi geri!

  • Well said !

  • Thanks dude!

  • Great documentation !

He was the best Shihan, had met and trained by him many times when visiting Indonesia dojo in year 74 - 83

  • Nakayama was a great friend of Sensei Sadamu Uriu, who brought Karate Shotokan to Brazil in 1950. He is living and teaching Karate Do in Rio de Janeiro, where I I started my training with 4yo. Uriu's NKK gym still has Nakayama's picture, by Funakoshi's side, in its wall to be remembered and honored. Great vid. Thanks for sharing.

  • Dude, very good this movie!!!!!! Thank you!

    Oss

  • meio velhinho mais da pra ter uma base

  • true karatedo art, not like today where most styles emphasize on sport karate. Karatedo training should be focused with basics & defense, not sport.

  • and kata, don't forget kata. ;)

  • You r ryt Areonz, my friend. Karate these days is really about sports. But there is still an advantage to this w/c is the reason why I really love to join and WIN tournaments. We cannot wish to fight for our lives outside in self defense...and I also want to use in a practical sense my karate techniques. Even though we can't really use these techniques in sports karate, we can maintain our flexibility, agility, speed, control, power and most of all, our AWARENESS and HUMILITY...

  • Hi, great movie. Thank you.

  • ... thanks for sharing this great documentation.

  • thanks to you for watching
