I am not a fan of Coldplay or Joe Satriani. And After hearing both those songs in my ears they are way to similiar. No offense to Coldplay fan. I beleive if coldplay didn't copy that song they were inspired by JS song.

Eh, I think they are pretty different. I'm not analyzing it on some subatomic level but if these songs are at all similar it's a coincidence. I don't know why anyone would hear the Creaky Boards song and think they have to rip it off. The cold play song has a lot more power and is generally a much better song. Why would they rip off a song that is not as good?

it's not that they "have" to do anything, it's that they possibly did! the creakyboards version is obviously not as big sounding, but that has more to do with the studios the bands recorded in than the actually song! a good melody is a good melody, regardless of who makes it

I agree the songs I didnt write is so close to being good. With better producing, the notes can be placed correctly. I doubt Coldplay get every fucking note, its all about recording quality and producing quality.

The songs do have a similar type of sound but there's only so many ways to write music and the 4 measures that have the same rhythm that appear a couple times throughout the song have all different notes. The claim is definitely to get money any way they can. Next they're gonna try and sue Kelly Clarkson for those 4 notes at 6:39 because she sings them in her song " My Life Would Suck Without You" when she sings the words "cause we belong." That's more noticeable and I wasn't listening for it!!

I like the creaky board song a bit better. Probably because I dislike hearing Chris Martin's Ian McCullough impression that isn't quite as good as Richard Ashroft's Ian McCullough impression which wasn't even as good as Bono's Ian McCullough impression. um, sorry, that Creaky Boards song sounds nice, but if it's close to anything it's Brian Wilson/Beach Boys' Smile material (and I'm pretty sure if their album was to be reviewed by major music reviewers they would point out that similarity). the melody is not remotely the same as Viva, the style of music is not remotely the same except that it's classic melodic pop with layered vocals, and any few minutes listening to radio, I hear songs which sound more "plagiarized" from other songs than that.
