When I saw the movie I thought it was extremely homophobic too. But later i read the director saying that he choose a gay bondage club just because he wanted to set the story of man searching for revenge for his raped pregnant woman in the most masculine place ever; he tried to fill the movie with as much male energy as possible and the gay male club was according to him the best place to do that in order to stress the chauvinism of society.. He didn't mean to offend or judge gay people.
