@Murmisen it's just basic chords. 1-4-5 Progression; G-C-D back to G for the "verses" and C-D-G Then there is this one segment where it goes C-D-am-C-D-G. You can see/hear Joy play that in the movie with a capo at the 5th fret. hope that helps.

Saw the film last night on satalite....its about how shit life is and how fucked up it makes you. The girl in the pic, whose in the film looks a lot like my ex-nothing against the actress but I hope my ex rots-thats a good example of 'hapiness' too. If I live long enough, I'll probably end up as empty as Ben Gazzara's character....the song? Well, thats a theme I identify with.....How FUCKED UP.....

Yes, this version is quite nice but unfortunately so short; take a glance to my video and you will find this "acoustic version". Maybe it would be nice to hear the Eytan Mirsky version

@Trollfresser it's hilarious though. the character's even use comedic timing. it's easier to look at it as a comedy than a soap opera or serious drama. but I can see why you'd say that though, it is pretty much the most f*cked up movie I've ever seen.

Some themes were too dark to just laugh at them - at least, for me they were.

This is obviously taken off of the film soundtrack because the actual recording of Stipe's version of the song has an extended intro. But why don't you all check out the superior version by the guy who wrote the song, Eytan Mirsky. You can find it on itunes and on his cd, "Everyone's Having Fun Tonight!" It kicks Stipe's ass.
