People will say of negative things since they don't want others to reflect on their own flaws. It is put you and only on how want to look. It is to come across people to see the inner beauty that you show on the outside. Also don't think your the only one. :)
MyBrownSkin you are lucky that you are clear of your desires at such a young age. I would suggest you and your parent look for a natural hair stylist that you like and have them guide you into some cute styles. Your friends might just like it; but more important you are being yourself. It's OK to be different
i want to go natural soo bad but im scared about how people will look at me. im young, so my skinn isnt thick enough to tune out all the h8ers. the very first time i got a relaxer, if i was old enough, i would've chosen not go get one in the first place. i keep fightin back n forth on what i wanna do with my hair. i feel like im not "free" with straightened & relaxed hair but then again im scared to change it. ughh either way its lose lose
People will say a lot of either way it goes, but it is up to you to figure out who you are inside the outside mainly see outer. It is rare to find people who know what inner beauty can bring out in a person that reflex on the outside.
Chris Rock has lied twice already about this; On Oprah he said his little girl asked him why don't I have good hair Daddy. On the View, he said he heard his little girl telling someone else this. He just stole the story line for money. He also said it is cheaper to date a white girl for her hair. The guy has some clear issues and many Black women will pay for this one for many years to come.
Thank you!! My only problem with his documentary is that he took a subject that is very touchy for black women, and satirized it, which could raise awareness of the problem, but by making fun of it.
@cozella There's room for many more stories about Black hair and culture. It's difficult to judge when you don't know the full story or have seen both movies
@cozella There's room for many more stories about Black hair and culture. MNR is an entertaining documentary. It's difficult to judge if you don't know
@trinidadiangirl It's too bad, we have been made to put such a negative meaning to the word "Nappy" it's only a texture of hair, curly, kinky, spirals of fragile strands of hair...that's all It's a beautiful thing

I hate the word "nappy" it's root meaning is derogatory and I'll never use it to describe my hair ...to me, it's right up there with "nigger"
