  • THIS IS SO AWESOME

  • I remember seeing this live, getting ready to go into high school and join the marching band. UA band is incredible!

  • Oingo Boingo show for the win! A lot of people pay tribute to Elfman, but not much to the actual band he was in in the 80's. HECK YES! A FACE. Crazy excited, gotta show my dad this, then running to listen to

  • so awesome. god I love Boingo.

  • Ok this sucks

  • MY BAND ONLY DID BATMAN.

I want a Boingo field show.

  • this rocks so hard, I can't even believe it!! I wish that A) my high school was that badass, and B) that I was actually IN marching band, in the event that they would perform this.

    BOINGO FTW! THIS IS EPIC!

  • I'm amazed something as anti-religion as Insanity went over so well in America's Heartland . . . groovy :)

  • @nyctivoe Well, there weren't any lyrics. :P

  • Elfman rocks. This band rocks. I have to wonder how many members of this band really have a clue about Danny Elfman though? Oingo Boingo is a bit before their time. (although obviously not before the directors time.

  • i'm only 19 and i'm a HUGE elfman fan. I'mm not in that band.. i'm just saying that it's possible that many of those people could know about him. he's pretty much a musical genius and kinda hard to not notice now days, especially because of his past with burton and burton's association with jonny depp and such. it's a nice circle. Oh and the new nightmare before christmas soundtrack brought A LOT of attention to elfman's work. I'd say most musicians know about him, if not oingo boingo as well.

  • Oh we knew!, that was the beauty of it. Here we were performing a cool show and learning about some cool music.

  • I'm glad to finally see Danny Elfman being given proper credit for his genius. Props to the band directors or whomever chose his music!

  • That was my first year on the Tubaline. Rock on. Rigby is god.

  • OMG my high school band is doing Danny Elfman for our show next year it is sooooo cool. We get to do the hoo hah thing from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The show is Beatlejuice, edward scissorhands, peewees play house, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  • we'r doing danny elfman this year. Our chirts even have Jack Skellington on them.. It is so kickass!

  • nice

  • Badass! That is so cool that your school would do that. That sounded great. Danny Elfman ftw

  • That was too kool! I wish my high school band would do something as kool. Oh well.

  • I could just see Beavis -n- Butthead tripping up the entire line of musicians with a length of string and the dominoe effect...

  • This was my rookie year marching with the Pride. Never did get the video...wish I would have. Thanks for posting! Gives me goosebumps just watching it again.

  • I knew I went to a good school (University of Arizona), but Jesus H., is our football team really that bad? Actually I think this is during a battle of the bands thing they usually do in spring. Still, it's funny to seemingly watching a halftime show with about 5 people in the crowd.

  • This was a Band Day performance from 2000. Band Day is an annual event that takes place on one Saturday every year (usually in November, sometimes late October) where many high school marching bands from Arizona, California, and New Mexico compete. The Pride (the U of A's marching band) hosts the competition, but of course doesn't actually compete (continued)...

  • (...)instead having two exhibition performances--like the one you're watching--during the day. There are actually thousands and thousands of high schoolers, parents, and supporters on the east side of the stadium (the side the camera is on), but due to the placement of the camera and the angle of the stadium, you can't see them.

  • that was great!!!!

  • Actually sounds like Boingo too ^^

    Awesome

  • Oh wow!

    Great arrangement, sounds really powerful.

  • I liked the way they came onto the field. The opening Horns were good but not very ominous like the song was. The arrangement was very watered down in some parts and i felt that it could of been brought out more. the Drill was boring in alot of places but that comes with having a large group like this, it limits the availabilty to do innovative things.

  • Wow, that's totally amazing. I'd have loved to've been there. Are there any higher quality versions available?

  • Wow, what a great idea! This is so cool, I wish my school did this.

  • Very Cool!

  • This is freakin' orgasmic.

  • lol totally.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! This was my last year marching and I never got the video tape. It;s so cool to see this again!

  • wow.. this is pretty crazy. great arrangement too.
