You're very talented & also very pretty & hot! :) Cheers!

I think these videos are helpful, because I get to learn different expressions that the ones I already know, so I will get used to hearing different ones. Thank you!!!!
@chica476 Yes, they do. If you are unfamiliar with the tones in Chinese, please watch the lesson "Basic Chinese , How to Say Hello in Chinese , Chinese Tones" Thank you for watching! :)
Good video. You don't really need a language to bargain in Asia because they use a calculator. What you do is point at the thing you want, the trader punches in the price in the calculator, you gasp, step back in shock and mutter "Jesus H. Christ" under your breath, then move in and punch in a price half the trader's initial offer. Then you go from there. In China you have to also check all the banknotes for fakes.
This video is especially helpful for me. I love going to the night markets but I'm sure the vendors see me coming from a mile away. "here's comes the American guy who doesn't know how to ask for a bargain" XD They're going to be disappointed now. lol! Thanks Peggy.

ive just startet looking at your videos and all reddy i feel chinese but can u teace for example that girl over there is pretty? just so i can say to my friends when i see a beoutiful girl.
@AfricanLionsHunter As far as I have studied from my linguistics class, the development of Taiwan Mandarin is inevitably influenced by Taiwanese due to the large population of Taiwanese speakers here. In addition, it is another element that makes Taiwan Mandarin different from Beijing Mandarin. Yet we should not allow ourselves to label either of them as the so called "standard Mandarin". :)
@PeggyTeachesChinese ive a friend from BJ. she has seend your videos as ive asked about this same topic. she says she understands you no problem. people from different regions will often have different accents in speech, but it should not be a big deal. same with us americans. we have many accents within our country, but its all english and ive never had any serious problem trying to understand someones speech just because of where they are from. great video peggy! 886
So I've heard a rule from another source, when two 3rd tone words are put together, like 'ni3 hao3' the first word is pronounced 2nd tone. I'm curious about te4jia4, are there any other rules like the two 3rd tones rule??
Is there more than one way to write 400 in chinese characters? Your "hundred" looks different than what I'm normally used to. Is it a typo or are both acceptable
Yeah, in the United States, a price on a good or service may vary by day/week/month, but in retail stores (at least around the Wisconsin area), the price that is marked is final unless a coupon is used or there is a defect in the product. But there is always exceptions of course (for example: people who hold To summaraize, I write too much about useless stuff on youtube and this is a fine example lol.
great video, but lets be real, we will always pay "bai ren qian".=p
chinese buddy bought awesome flops for $4, so I ask where he bought em, go to the same store and bastard lao ban won't part with em for less than $10 as his "special price" for me. >:|
Thank you! These lessons are really helpful, although sometimes I think you go too quickly. There don't seem to be too many natural pauses. But otherwise, your lessons are great.:)
@TheBermuda I try to over enunciate each word when I teach. But I am a pretty fast speaker in real life, it's hard to quit. I forget I am teaching sometimes. :P
@yasumi07 It should be 450: si4bai3 wu3shi2 but colloquially, si4bai3 wu3(four hundred frive) is acceptable. 405 would be si4bai3 ling2 wu3 but si4 ling2 wu3(four zero five) in colloquialism. :)
@PeggyTeachesChinese the ending was very funny xixi. peggy your vids are the best because you put so much work into them. many teachers online are boring. but you make learning fun :)

From the book I am learning from there are phrases like:
便宜点儿的(object )- (object) that is a little cheaper
小点儿的 (object) - (object) that is a little smaller
Do the people in Taiwan use different phrases?
