I luv using my slow cooker & am always lookin 4 the easy no hassle way lol Just mite try it n slow cooker. Hope it works

  • @1970sarteaga I think that this would be fine in a slow cooker

  • That's looks delish! Everytime I make something new for dinner my family asks"Is that another yoyimax recipe?" You're a hit in my house Tammy!

  • @bcdoula lol! I love that! thanks for letting me know

  • the canned black beans are they already cooked when taken out from the can?

  • @TheDawnakaangel Yes, the black beans are already cooked in the can. I think that all beans that are packed in liquid in cans are already cooked. They actually cook them in the cans, just like they do the veggies (peas, corn, etc)

  • I want some now.

  • @orbital151 thanks for commenting, I had forgotten about this one, I will be making it again this week for sure.

  • mmm looks good

  • @jodievik1 It was tasty.

  • @yoyomax12 Do you think this recipe will work well in a slow cooker? Also did you cover the dish with foil when you baked it or did you leave it uncovered for the duration of the cook time? Thanks.

  • @buttafly312 I think this would totally ROCK in a slowcooker. I left it uncovered in the oven.

  • @buttafly312 That is the same thing that came 2 my mind while watching this video...if it would work well n a slow cooker? I am always lookin 4 the easy, no hassle way of doin things & I luv using my slow cooker 2 cook certian & different recipes I find that mite work well n it. I think this 1 would work well n there. I am gonna try it this week & cook mine n my slow cooker! I can't wait 2 c how it turns out!?!?!? I know yoyomax's looked delicious! :)

Looks so good, and good for you!

  • @porcelaincougar Thanks!

  • @yoymax my comments are the truth, you are one of my fav's by far.please keep making the videos.

  • @MACwishin2 Thanks!

  • Tammy, this is fantastic! The flavors are a delight, from the sweet to the bold, with that gentle smack from the cayenne. I served it up with fresh asparagus on the side, and I can hardly wait for leftovers tomorrow. I *will* be making it again.

Like you, I had to let it go for a full hour before the sweet potato was done. The chicken was probably a bit overdone, but with the sauce keeping it moist, it didn't suffer from it at all. Next time, I may try parboiling the potato for 10 minutes.

  • @anmoose Glad you enjoyed it, I will be making this again as well. I think that covering the dish with foil may keep the meat moister and cutting the potato bits up smaller too. Parboiling is also a good idea

  • I think I'm making this. I will vid response our feedback :)

  • @silverscreamgrl I think I heard you say that your mom didn't like it too much. I will wait for your video response :)

  • @yoyomax12 Yes, mom was not a fan. But remember, she is from the midwest. Think plain chicken. That's her thing. Stick a roast in the oven without anything to give it flavor...that's her. Not to say everyone in the midwest is like that, but my cousin's kid who lives in Wisconsin was exactly like that. We went out to lunch and she ordered some kind of wings but asked for them to just be plain. Nothing on them. Who does that? lol I'll admit, I only did 3 pieces but used all the spice so it ...

  • @yoyomax12 may have been a bit much for her (forgot to half the recipe)... but the next day it was even better (the leftover breast).. yes, I made the mistake of using breasts..it was what was out and thawed when I decided to do this.

  • What makes this jerk? Th spices?

  • @kash734 There is a seasoning mix originating in Jamaica called "jerk" seasoning. It contains spices similar to those found in this recipe.

  • nice!

  • @fezan84 Thanks!

  • We enjoyed this very much for dinner last night. Thank you for sharing the recipe and we will be making this again! HUGS xoxoxo

  • @WackaDoodleFreeZone Glad you enjoyed the recipe Peggy and thanks for letting me know you tried it.

This is something I will make again as well.

  • Now that looks good!!

  • @bcdoula Thanks!

  • sweet :) yoyomax for ever :P nice waiting for more

  • @amdyou1 More to come! thanks for watching. :)

  • That was very interesting receipe. As children hubs and I were not sweet potato fans for some reason but as adults our taste change and I ve been wanting to give them a try so this would be wonderful start.

  • @cozzyk You could easily use regular potatoes in this one as well.

  • Betty Crocker? ....and not sweet food??

Has the world gone crazy!? :P

  • @MissPonderosa lol!! The website actually has some really good non-sweet recipes on it.

  • Mmmm, looks so good, going to try this.

  • @Deseonfire Thanks!

  • This has all the makings of a winner! It *looks* fantastic, and something totally different. It goes on the to-do list for this weekend.

  • yum!

  • @kreeativeazn Thanks!

  • Quick question for you. I am not a black bean fan, would this recipe work with pinto or kidney beans?

  • @drbennettdc Yes, any kind of bean would do nicely. Frankly I don't find much of a difference between the taste of canned kidney or black beans

  • OmGoodness Tammy beteen u and Beth i am going crazy trying to catch up on the fantastic recipes. But of course don't slow down. Yummy such a great job you both are doing, but it's going to be fun trying them all. hehe. :D ox

  • @hanna72861 I enjoy Beth's recipe as well, thanks!

  • Oh wow - I had the idea that it was like beef jerky and have always ignored jerk chicken. You have changed my mind - thank you!

  • @thizizliz The jerk part is just a combination of seasoning. I had some really nice jerk pork in Jamaica, many years agol

  • Awesome! I love chicken thighs.

  • @KasCooks Chicken thighs are one of my favourites because they stay so nice and moist when cooked

  • The beans and chicken look great!

  • @1DRock37167 Thanks!

  • Oh the meal looks wonderful!

  • @aohmann Thanks Angie!

  • This look delish! I had something like this once, chicken is so versatile and can be used in hundreds of ways! Yay for chicken I think |I am hving it tonight, did you know myk uncle won't eat any meat, except for eggs and fish and cheese and stuff, when he was young he wdn't eat any meat so his mother took him to the doctor and he said well he looks healthy enough don't force him hahah hv a very good nite!

  • @veolettina I could live without meat if I had to I think, but never without eggs and cheese, love those too!

  • Do you take the bone out yourself or do you buy it that way?If you do take it out yourself could you do a video on this....I did it the other day and it took me so long to do it that I only ended up doing one.Idk maybe you have an easier way to do this?

  • @danielle002599 I did debone these particular thighs. The next time I do it, I will film it :)

  • Wow, that was kind of an odd recipe. I am going to have to make it, lol. I have never thought to have black beans and sweet potatoes together, or lime juice and honey...

  • @Autumngirl24 The combination of flavours is really good. We enjoyed it!

  • That looks amazing! I'm going to try this out this weekend :)

  • @SephoraJunkie Glad you liked the recipe. did you end up trying it?

  • Ooh yum. Thank you

  • @Fitange You are welcome, I appreciate your comments!

  • I have never had jerk chicken so this is a dish i will make to try...thanks Tammy

Just got back from the store getting some things I needed for it. HUGS xoox Ill let ya know how we liked it. Hope you are having a great day!

  • The stuff in this plus the flavors .. they all sound like WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!! haha I will be trying this for sure.

ZOMG the final pictures make me want to make it tonight.. which is a possibility since I have a nice honking sweet potato and probably do have some black beans (my fave) Thanks Tammy.... delicious looking

  • i really wish i liked beans cause this looks so good! i could probably make this without the beans maybe add a different veggie like asparagus or green beans!

  • @nay1134 The flavours in this are really good, you can sub out the beans for other veggies easily

  • there is a lil mom & pop place here that makes the best jerk chicken ever. right next to their shop there is a fantastic (fresh) blue crab and shrimp joint. i am sure 17 lbs of my pregnancy weight came from eating from them daily, lol

    xoexo

  • @edenbainbridge The last time I had jerk chicken was in Jamaica, it was gooooooddd!

  • That is a beautiful looking dish! Interesting that you add pumpkin pie spice!

  • @wildheart5 Thanks! The spice combination is very different but works well together.

  • That looks delicious! I think I will try it!

  • @Fightdog This will be made again in our house! Thanks for stopping by!

  • YUMMY! :D

  • @katie200101 Thanks!
