I think the CHP "thing" is really crying wolf and y'all know how that parable turns out. I think it's utter bullshit and deceiving. Unlike "Scared Straight," - which dealt with real, hardcore criminals in the box, what the CHP did was intentionally fake.
Great job with the phone calls, interviews, and everything. Way to go the extra mile. And it's pernicious that the kids just went straight to the media. I hope that what is apparently a reasonable and effective program isn't harmed in its perception or effectiveness by this incident.
I think apologizing to students 'if' they were traumatized makes sense here since the way they registered their complaint was apparently closer to Access Hollywood than a visit to the Guidance Counselor's Office.

They did it to several schools, but the collision was at school, and they put them in the ambulance and stuff! The even made a fake video of a kid dying at the hospital, with actual doctors.
