Ha ha, I'm Australian, which this show was, regular 2 hour light comedy show that ran from 70's where it started as a kids show to the 90's where it ended as a long running early evening light entertainment program for the family. So a trip back to childood for me (I'm 30). And it was surreal seeing such an internationally renound comedy great sat with such forgettable people as Daryle Somers and Jackie MacDonald and having that bloody puppet talking to him. lol
I remember watching the Red Faces segment, so it's odd that I don't have it. I don't know how much you recall; all I can remember is that Cook was very supportive of a couple of youngsters with a comic song, which other guest Samantha Fox presumably didn't like, because Cook said to "you were nice before but you've gone all bitchy now".
@frogandpeach1 would be good to get the Red Faces one, watching this comedy great judging the twadry local acts of Melbourne would be amusing in itself
@bluejeckett I heard Red Symons talking about his 1987 encounter with Cook early in 2009, on his breakfast radio program. He said Cook's dressing room was full and he (Symons) missed several of his own segments, because you just had to be there (i.e. with Cook). He also said that although the recording took place in the early afternoon, Cook was already tanked up ("well away" might have been the way Red put it, but I can't exactly remember).
@bluejeckett Yes he did Red Faces. The judges were Red Symons, Peter Cook and Samantha Fox as far as I recall. I remember watching it when it was first on, but for some reason I don't have a copy of it.
Do you have the Chooklotto segment to this show
