The SS money was unlawfully given to somebody. Let's get it back. Those who have used all the socialist services should now pay the money back. Those who have voted for squandering the SS trust fund should pay large penalties and receive zero SS. The money went somewhere. Let's find out where it went and give them a bill.
Privatizing SS is the answer. That way only the people that pay in can get their benefits. My 20 something generation is on the hook for the greed of the Boomers. You know what? If the boomers don't fix the shit they caused, I'll just leave the country to a more prosperous one! How do you like that, Boomers?
Damn, its so unfortunate that you are all right. Peter is to smart and honest. No way anyone wants to realize the facts at this stage. Most ppl belive the system can keep going.
With regards to the SS, Ron Paul said it well that they can take some of the money saved on bringing troops home to take care of the ppl most depended of social security in the transition state. I think that could work.
Old people have had their entire lives to be politically active and to try to reform Social Security in to something funded. Instead they voted themselves benefits that they intended to have their grand kids pay for.
@ric0rich well said. My parents and grandparents are/were such political slouches, and now they bitch n moan. Meanwhile i'm left holding the bag. They complain about not getting S.S while thats the least of my worries. I likely wont have an economy in which to even earn a living!!
I feel bad for this poor guy who worked since he was 16yr paying in to this corrupt Social Security AND now he problably will lose it all.
But I know Peter Knows that you cannot abolish the whole system,, Peter has said before that they have to cut mostly from the wealthiest and then later on change the whole system...
So let me get this straight, career politicians lie all the time and have virtually destroyed the country and you expect an honest person to get votes because he is honest? Peter must avoid certain topics to win. Like Peter says time is almost up and we have to act now. We know his intensions, but just telling 20 people a week who live in CT what needs to happen isn't going to get him elected. Peter needs to mimick Rand Paul's campaign message but Rand knows what it takes for someone to win.
Peter simply needs to rephrase his stance to something like: once the government is spending less and taxing less, you guys will have more money to spend and save for retirement, so therefore we won't have to need SSI payments to survive since our retirees will have a very wealthy bank account.
Boomers will not appreciate the government taking 40+ years of SS taxes from them and return them with nothing. Peter once said we need a opt out option for those who have never paid into it, and get the benefits and reduce them for those who have paid into the program longer.
i.e. someone who is 65 will get full benefits, someone who is 40 will get half payments, etc. I think this is the best way to end it. A slow, gradual process. Not sure why Peter didn't say this this time.
The problem is Peter is too smart and there is no way that average Joe can understand his way of thinking and understanding of Austrian economics because they don't understand it themselves. Peter is scaring old people away by saying he wishes to end SSI and Medicare. Also we have many other programs and agencies to attack and abolish first before ending SSI anyways. Dept of Energy, Dept of Ed, IRS, Federal Reserve, Homeland Security, etc. SSI and Medicare should be a low priority on that list.
Peter is a very smart guy.. the way he is talking down about cutting Social Security rather than cutting other billions in spending, I would think he was trying NOT to get elected.
But I doubt he would waste all his time and energy talking to small crowds if he wanted to lose.
@residentzombie U gotta give old folks some credit. Not all of them are that dumb. After all, they were part of the process that built US into a great nation.
I'm just hoping that it's because he is new to most people in Connecticut and as he is seen more and more, his popularity will grow and he will begin to draw a larger turnout.

Schiff is right about the Ponzi scheme known as Soc. Sec. This country has to stop pretending that there is no Soc. Sec. problem.

man, Schiff came out a little hostile in this vid compared to others.
Just hope Linda McMahon's baby kissing and ass kissing doesn't sway them.
