I'd also like to know what chords you were playing, I guess if I looked at the video enough times I'll figure it out. One of the great garage songs of all time. I was stationed down in Georgia in the early 80's and got turned on to this song.
I love your version and the sun glasses and hat remind me of Blind Melon Jellin...... The reason I'm contacting you is for the corrcet chords. All the internet stuff seems to be wrong. I don't know if it's possible but could you post them or refer me to a web sight? Just a great song and it would be great to add to my five chord prision....... Hey some of the greatest were writtin with just three. Rock on brother!!!!!! Charlie from Ct.
Cochran wrote it true. I was stating it was sung originally by J. F. Wilson and the Cavaliers! It was written after a real accident that happened in Barnesville GA. Recorded in 1964.
i know j frank wilson had the big hit. i have the vinyl lp. i heard it on am radio when it was a hit in the mid 60s. cochran recorded it twice. once for gala records out of vidalia, ga, and after j frank for king records out of cincinnati. i'm a friend of wayne cochran. know the song all too well.
great version. so much fun. great job. what an infectious song........."it was such a thrill, it was hurtin" me...... i was sufferin' in exctasy".........what a great line.
you make me want to get up and dance with some fine thing like i used to do. and then step in to her close and put me hand on her waist, and...well, see if i could think of something clever to say to get her to make me suffer in exctasy.......well, you can see the picture..........thanks for getting me rockin' again.
Knew it was a Martin the minute I heard it.. Good job!
