  • bruno, i always enjoy your video on your activities flying. It really is enjoyable to see your jurney with your glider.

  • @daredum Thanks so much for the kind comment. Fun to make these videos too. :)

  • Does your glider have water ballast tanks?

  • @lucserre Yes, I can add another 250 pounds +/- to the glider. In this video I was flying dry without water. Bruno

  • Great videos!!

But what is the little electronic device on the top of the cockpit ? (the small one with the small antenna on his left)

  • @osalys It is called a Zaon PCAS. It detects the transponders of other aircraft and gives a proximity alert. In Europe almost all of the gliders have a system called FLARM. We are just getting the system here in the USA in the next few months. Mine is ordered. Once I get it this current instrument will be taken out. Take care, Bruno

  • thank you, Bruno :-)

  • quick question:

you have a bright orange/black walkie-talkie-looking thing attached to your chest and

a small wireless-hub-looking thing on top of your instrument panel.

    what are those?

  • @DeusDK The orange device strapped to my parachute is a GPS messenger that tracks where I am and sends my location to friends and if I get in an emergency I can signal for help with it. It is called a SPOT personal tracker. Pretty cool device!

The small box on top of my panel is called a Zaon PCAS. It detects transponder signals from other aircraft and alerts me if one gets too close. It is very helpful in busy Salt Lake City airspace.
